Are you going to challenge f-n-i's position as Emoticon Whore of the Year ???

thought i'd resurrect this post and mention that i finally got my first speeding ticket in my zed. 80mph in a 55 (cop wrote 65mph, though). the fine was 250 dollars. it's due april 15th. i got it in california a week before i moved out here to florida. sucky... but OH WELL. comes with the territory, i suppose! i just need to be more responsible, i guess.....

i got pulled over first time last week and i've had the car for 2 months now. but then again, i attract police attention b/c my car does not have a front plate. they can't pull you over for just that so they try to tack on some bs offense, ie not signalling, or not slowing down at a yield, etc.

i got away with not having a front license plate in california. i just got lucky, i guess. and... i think here in florida.. cops slash the law just don't give a damn. either or.. it was all good!

i like that "bmw performance award" thing. i deserve a lot of those then!! hehe i keed! i keed!! i never speed. well... no comment.

Oh I did get pulled over at M Fest. Not for speeding though. The only two cars I could see took an exit. I was in the left lane. I didn't want to get seperated from the only two bmws that were around me in the M Fest, so I checked back an to the right and exited from the left lane. Apparently the cop didn't like that :? So we chatted for a bit an he let me go with a warning 8)

i got an award tonight. 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. the road? a mountain road full of twists and straightaways. i was headed up the mountain.... with the bay area on my right hand side.. mountains on the left. cops followed me... i got off easy. i was punchin' it pretty hard. cop was cool though.

traffic school... here i come!! :driving:

where exactly was this...being in the same area I'd like to know. The cop followed you and you still misbehaved?

I don't drive the Z4MC any faster than my M5s, so I'd hope the chances of getting tickets/points is not increased

Maybe the fact that I'm using BMW sat-nav without audible camera warnings versus my TomTom will change this - seems a pity to stick the TomTom in the Z just for the sake of up-to-date & audible warnings :headbang:

rosierobins,

i was coming from downtown saratoga headed to big basin. the ticket says, highway 9/ booker creek headed west.

they were hiding on an incline on the mountain to my left.. a little bit after some day camps in the area and before the roads really start getting twisty. i went a good 5 or 6 miles before i got pulled over

Picked up 3 points and £60 fine back in June 98mph in a 70mph

They came from nowhere just driven all the way back from Le-Mans in France dodged all the speed traps over there and was happy cruising along 20 mins from home with some sounds on thinking what a superb weekend when i got a mirror full of Volvo and blue lights he said they been following for some time had to sit and watch the video like a naughty schoolboy.

He even turned round and said i can see why you were speeding nice summers night nice bit of road and nice car :D

I got my first ticket in over 25 years the first weekend I had my car on the way to Las Vegas, the cop wrote me for 80 in a 55, it cost me $300. 15000 miles later I've never been caught again, ( radar detector helps)

Two years ago, was on my way back from the ocean. I had stowed the radar detector while I was having lunch and didn't bother to place it back on the dash. As luck would have it, a state police car came from the opposite direction right after I had passed a line of "slugs". He of course turned around and pulled me over. He said one of his radar guns said 80 mph and the other said 65. Happy days! Given his statement, he of course couldn't site me. Morrow of the story: if you own a detector, us it.
