Marf83, Just seen your repsonse sorry!

Picture was taken as soon as the car came off the jack and hadn't settled back down on the springs 100%....

I can confirm it will pass MOT no problem, if you want any specific pictures let me know! I'm lowered on H&R's also which are lower than the eibachs I believe.

Hey Craigza,

no problem, car looks great. Would love to see a shot of it from a bit further back so you can see the whole car & both of the arches. Do you think 25mm at the back would fit ok, ive read a few threads about putting 25mm' on, but no pics.

Much appreciated

Marf

Marf, what size springs do you have? What ones did you get?
I will go out in a sec and measure the clearance I now have from wheel to arch (with 20mm) and take some closer pics so you can see the distance left.

Craigza,

Currently on msport, but waiting for Eibach' to be delivered at the mo, should be here on Monday.
Eagerly awaiting the pics.

Marf

Please ignore the fact the car hasn't been cleaned, the weather has been crap here for the last week!

You can see the wheels edge out giving the car perfect stance but sit within the top of the arch, leaving it legal! I fitted the spacers and had them checked at a test centre around the corner from my house.

That looks awesome, so much better than stock. I'm totally sold. Do you get any rubbing on full lock, I might go with 20's upfront too.

Wow...great looking Zed!!!

This is how the car should come stock!!!!!

So on the REAR you can get 2 fingers between the tyre and the arch which is enough clearance for bumps ect and to confirm I've used 25mm spacers.

The FRONTS are left untouched, no spacing... I want to keep the staggered look but also don't want to effect the turning circle, I will eventually space the fronts 10mm when it comes to it however.

The only rubbing I get is the bumper on the road lol....

If your ever in the above situation just lock the wheel either left or right to give extra clearance!

Okay, installed mine today. Took me ages, but I did clean & seal the weels, and scrub the arches whilst I was at it - before you all have a go I did not manage to get the rest of the car cleaned

Before and after pics below, left and right respectively. Angles of shots are not quite the same, but I think you'll see the difference anyway.

Very happy indeed - the car wasn't quite settled when I took the pics, now it is it looks perfect. I need to get it out and on a level surface to have a look because I'm not sure it even needs Eibachs now - certainly not for visual reasons.

As is traditional when I do a mod, I think I broke something - sheared a locking bolt thread I think, will check tomorrow

Craigza, They look GREAT! Make a huge difference hey

Marf83, I took some close up pics this evening (sorry its a little dark!) I think with the spacer width it depends how low you will be dropping your Z.
From the rear It looks like I could squeeze another few mm out of the spacers...

From looking up the wheel into the arch though I think I'm already on the limit!... :D

Fronts are the same with 15mm.

Bing, Looking Good! Nice job getting them done and all the extra work you did aswell... (Except clean the car!) :D

I thought the same about not lowering it when I first put the spacers on... Soon came to my sences and popped the springs on!! even nicer IMO

Hmm, when I measure how much gap I currently have, it looks like a front/rear spacer set up of 15/20mm would be too much? The rear gap measures to be barely (not even) 20mm. Front -maybe 12 mm.
I have 18" ellipsoids (107s) with standard staggered tire fittings (255/35 rear, 225/40 front) with sport suspension package so it's somewhat lowered.
Am I missing something? Has anyone fitted 20/15 spacers with this set up? Getting ready to pull the trigger but a little worried about interference.

I have the same setup, 20mm rear spacers definately work with no rubbing issues, I havent bought the front ones yet, but Im going with either 12 or 15 for the fronts

Bing, looks excellent. Do you notice any difference when you drive the car? Must be one of the best mods you can do to a Z4 for quite small money even without lowering as well

sammyz - I spent most of the day when not doing other stuff cleaning it yesterday  so not driven it enough to be sure about differences in a positive way... What I can say is that they haven't had an adverse effect on driving, if that makes sense.

As for lowering, looking on the flat I think that it will benefit looks wise even more, however I have some staring time to evaluate it before making that decision next month :D

I have 20 mm H&R spacers all round with the Styling 108's. Rear no rubbing at all. Front rubbed a hole in the splash guard at the front. But I've seen people using a heat gun remodeling the plastic fender covers to clear the tires at compression. Unfortunately 20 mm is the thinnest possible spacer without the need for longer bolts, and I have about 1 mm clearance between the spokes and the brake caliper (Alcon). With the Bilstein B12 prokit suspension I have a lot less rubbing, only at huge compression in the Karussel on the Nurburgring it rubs a bit.
Steering is a bit more sensitive to tramlining. One of the reasons why I'm still looking at BBS CH in the 8,5Jx18 fronts ET 35 to cure rubbing, improve steering, but they don't look right. (with 10Jx18 ET 40 rears) The wheels look small, 19 inch just isn't functional, that's all looks and sacrificing handling. Well let it rub then :)

I've noticed some rubbing on the front of mine, both sides in the same space with my 12mm spacers, spotted it whilst giving it a clean. Mine on standard sport suspension.

Jan - where do you see evidence of the rubbing ?

gazrobbo - Thanks for the input. I have gone ahead and ordered the 15mm spacers, and will try them on the rear. If I still have some clearance, I will then order 20's for the rear and move the 15's to the front.
Hopefully this all works out.

I love this forum - there is such a wealth of 'tried this, that happened' knowledge in just this thread as we all have a go

You know it Andy

It's now clean and settled, looks even better. Assuming I do the Eibachs it'll look even better - pure carnography :D
