Spacers...

Measure standards and add the spacer width on? Iirc they are m12x1.5 bolts standard, 26.5mm long. May be wrong though.

M12x1,5 could be right, looking at other websites. Standard lenght 26,5mm? Could anyone confirm? (to be sure)

Mine came in a kit so I didn't need to worry about correct bolt sizes etc.
I thnk what ben g suggested is the way to measure if you have to buy separately
Pop up some pics when done :D

I just typed in bmw z4 wheel bolts on ebay and it's definitely 26mm (thread size) Unsure about the 0.5mm, not that it would make any difference, it's so small. So add 26mm to the size of the spacer and buy them.

So for anyone looking for spacers on a Z4 E85:

120x5 (72,5mm)
bolts; M12x1,50 26mm standard thread size + spacer width
Measure your max width: take a bar or straight wooden beam, put it upright against your wheel arch and level it. Then measure the difference between your rim/tyre and the wooden beam (to avoid that your rims stand out). If you are thinking of dropping your car, you should consider smaller spacers.

Now I know what to look for. Thanks guys

I'm going for 12-13mm front and 15-16mm back (as I want to drop the car 35mm too)
I'll post some pics as soon as I get it done... I'l probably color the brake calipers red too :)

Just measured the max space between the wheel arch and the tire and came up with 14mm in front and 18mm at the back... so I just ordered 13mm for the front and 17mm for the back, as well as caliper paint... I'll post some pics while I'm doing the mods

Been watching this thread for a while... Since lowering my car 35/40mm all round my 108's seem swallowed by the car.

Just ordered 25mm rear spacers as I'm after the wider rear look, will post pics as soon as I take delivery!

Also treated myself to some pressed metal plates.

I measured my 108s last week and noticed that the most outer part of my tires were about 18mm deeper than the wheel arch. So putting in spacers of 25mm will make your wheels stand out. Having said that... I'm quite curious to see the result! Especially because I will lower my car about 35 mm too, and I have the same rims :)

Where did you already put some pics of your Zed?

If they stick out they will be sent back and traded for 20mm, I've had a few people look at the car and they recon 25mm should be spot on BUT we will soon see.... (they have gone in further since lowering)

I will have them fitted on Wednesday anyway and will take pictures regardless of if I keep or send them back!

I've only got the one picture of my car lowered as of yet.... as seen below.

**EDIT** I Should probably mention the car has now settled and sits slightly lower.......

Looks great... I'm convinced! :)
I'm just wondering whether I would fit springs myself or not... I've seen an amazing bargain of FK springs on here as well as a very clear "how to" for fitting... But then I still need the lining out and geometric MOT... (seems to be obligatory in Belgium). I got a price for a little over 500 euros for Eibachs + fitting + lining out. Seams a good price to me...

In my opinion its a massive improvement on looks when the wheel arch gap is closed, this is how the car should of come out of the factory!

I had a local BMW specialist fit my springs, bit of a price break down for you:

£180 for H&R lowering springs
£220 for fitting and hunter alignment.
--------------------
Total = £400 - which is just over 500 euros so that price you were quoted seems spot on!

I also recently fitted PowerFlex wishbone bushes which was a nice addition to improve handling, was about £100/ 125 euro for parts and labour.

The Powerflex wishbone bushes make sense for a 3.0si but I'm not sure if it makes sense for a 2.2i?

Hey, I'm about to fit Eibach' on my Z4R with 108's. Has anyone got the same set up & fitted spacers? Got any pics? Thinking of doing both at the same time.

Cheers

I'm going book mine in this week to have my Eibachs fitted in early August, and I am going to do the same I think. Be rude not to really - wheels will be off anyway, and only one alignment session necessary

Sorry, not got pics though... Obviously  :D

Seems like a good plan hey. What size spacers are you going for? Not sure if i should get the Eibach' fitted first & then measure up for the spacers & just wait until they're delivered before getting the alignment done, or whether i should just dive in with 20mm rears & 15mm fronts???

Dont need to get alignment done after fitting spacers, so no need to wait.

Really ? I thought that changing the track would require an alignment :?

Happy to be corrected...

Not quite decided what sizes, wavering between 12/15 and 15/20. Can't decide what will be best with a 15mm drop from the Eibachs too.

I've been told the 25mm rear spacers have landed, going to get home and fit them, will report back later with pics.

Am looking to fit 20mm spacers to the rear of my old vw golf. But am clueless about them, I have seen some that bolt to the hub then the wheel bolts directly to spacer which are ideal. Are these spacers made of alloy or metal? Where is best to look for high quality spacers? Thank you :)
