Ga41.... Its simply the same as fitting wide wheels, widening track doesnt upset handling..... If anything it helps. Search pretty much all race touring car teams, and spacers are used reguarly in other words, its a simple way of creating perfect offset :-)

I know the benefits of a wider track mate, but only on one axle? That's what's bugging me.

Ga41 the rear is et 27??? The fronts are 32?? The rear is wider track stil even with the 12mm spacer on the front?? So your not getting it :-)

Simpson motorsport advised me... Ferrari race specialists, they no there stuff. Im happy anyhow :-) i had to do this for the wider calipers. And reaseached it massively........ As your not using spacers, you dont need to worry ;-)

Dude, i DO get it. I dont care about the offsets. I have an X wide front track and a Y wide rear track, i install 12mm spacers in the front only, the X:Y ratio has changed. That's what i mean. It doesnt matter if the rear was already wider, that's not my point mate. :) If Simpson say it doesnt make a difference then i MAY believe them but i'd rather read as much hands on opinion as possible. Have you taken it on the track since installing them? When you do please get back to us with your impressions.

Lol ga41 you make me smile

The rear has wheel width of 9.5 offset of 27, the front is 8.5 with an offset of 32.... Effectively im closing the gap, so im going to get less understeer upto a point...... After that point oversteer will come with less warning as understeer shows up as a warning of to much speed carried into a corner......,

Ga41 seriously calm down :-) its all discussion on a forum....., ive taken advice from the best....., like i sed your not using spacers so you have no worry at all!!

I have driven the car very hard during braking, under and oversteer and not noticed anything really different, maybe slightly lesd understeer but that is mostly down to tyre choice.

 What in my post made you think i was getting upset? And the reason i ask is because it's something that i personally may install in the future and also it's nice to have things written down for others to read and learn from later on.

You typing tone indicated you were losing your temper slightly.....
Id ideally like a square track setup with 9.5 width rims all round like someone on zpost but the arch needs substantial modding..........

That must handle like god!!!! No warning of rear breakaway tho...

Just remember track..... Has a direct correlation to wheel width and offset......

Interestly lots of people that install the wider front csls dont realise the offset is lower than stock effectively most of the .5 extra front wheel width goes to the inside of the vehicle thus loosing valuable suspension clearance.

Rear however extends considerably more than stock and is perfect......

You should have a look on M3 cutters website. There is a site sponsor, who has his own section. He is called Cricmcn and he sells Bimecc hubcentric spacers for a really good price :D
Good to know! Are those Bimecc spacers the same kind of quality as Eibach or H&R? The statement "A good price" never convinced me of buying something. The product has to be good also...

I have found an AP guy who has confirmed me that’s possible to fit the Z4M AP kit with CSL wheels and without using spacers. They have a Z4M on their website which has the AP kit and CSL wheels. I asked them the question about the 2mm distance and the possibility of something getting stuck between the wheel and caliper.

Their response;
2mm is plenty, we run 1mm on the race cars :)
I wouldn't worry, the chances of a stone doing that are zero.

OK Beedub, bare with me I'm still not home from the bad desert so not even close to fitting the brakes but I found out today from the firm I bought my alloys from that their ET38.. what do you think, should I get spacers??

Ps.. on another note you'll be proud of the stuff I've bought ready to fit.. LED no plate lights, strut brace, M bonnet, M F bumper, Aero skirts and obviously the brakes.

hi billy, sorry for the late reply, youll slip those brakes behind ET38s all day long with plenty of room to spare..... forget spacers you wont need them :-) if you on 18s careful with the wheel weights as you'll probably have to move them inward slightly to avoid the leading edges of the caliper :-)

billy, your modding is getting out of hand!!! youve spent a fortune matey!!! carefull...... its addictive isnt it!! lol....

I dream of one day achieving your level of modding, re the ET.. is lower the number closer in?
Higher ET value => wheel more inside the wheel arch
Lower ET value => wheel more outside

Example: ET 40 is 5 mm more inward than at 35 ET.
