I would like to point out that I never saw this car before and anything you may find wrong with it was certainly nothing to do with me.

Congratulations.

I hope the next few days don't drag too much!

After spending a few hours sorting out the MOT advisories ready to hand over to Chris, I am sad to say I am no longer a Z4 owner. It has been an absolute blast and Project Spa made me fall in love with driving again, so much so I sold a Tesla and bought a manual 911 :driving:

I hope Chris enjoys it as much as I have. Keep us posted Chris!

As the new owner of 'project spa' I couldn't be happier, she's a beaut! Got her home then went straight back out for a long drive, only just got back!
I think I'm going to enjoy being a Z4 owner.
I'll keep you updated Mark. :D

Excellent news. Had a lot of attention that car. Probably still got my blood on it somewhere. Hope you enjoy it

Just an update for Mark Wayo11 - Had the car nearly two weeks and still loving it. I've driven it every day even though its supposed to be a 'weekend car' In fact on more than one occasion I've found myself driving straight past my house to prolong my journey!
Hope your not missing her too much Mark, I'm sure the 911 helps!

Absolutely love that! I am missing it but glad you are happy and using daily! Thanks Chris!

Hi Mark,
Yes still loving being a Z4 owner thanks, such lovely cars. I went on a Z4 drive out a few weeks ago across Exmoor with a load of other Z4 owners, which was excellent.

My only gripe is the steering, it feels a bit "twitchy" and wants to self steer on any bits of bumpy or uneven road surface. I'm not sure if this is just a 'Z4 thing' or if it I need to have a look at the front suspension/steering, I'm interested to know what Enuff_Zed thinks as he's driven the car and also had it in pieces?

Cheers.

Quitre likely to just be usual sticky steering feel. Can be adjusted by rotating the spacer ring on the steering motor.
It is easily affected by temperature though.

Is that on facelift as well? Thought that was more a pre facelift issue

I had mine replaced in 2006 with an improved model, so I assumed all facelift would have that

What was the improvement?
As far as I can work out from Realoem, the same column is used all the way through from 2002-2008.
There's a manual and an automatic version to accomodate the interlock cable on the auto, but otherwise seem to be the same?

Given that the issue arises from the mesh of the gears, governed by the offset spacer ring, I can't see where any improvement would be made?
