Anyone in the Stratford / Warwick / Banbury area that would help an owner out? Would really like one touch 3-flash indicators and indicators to flash on unlock as well as lock. Two things I think should have been standard from the factory.

Would like to have the software myself but only have a company laptop which they wouldn't be happy with me installing this kind of thing on :(

Do you have a pre or post facelift car? I believe that only the post facelift cas can do the 3 flash thing

Post facelift. Have also read this, so should be able to do it.

I have that problem too, it says the subnet is being used elsewhere. Any ideas?

Right just checked and I'm running VMware 7.0.0

Type : host-only
External connection : -
Host connection: connected
DHCP: enabled
Subnet address: 192.168.68.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Vmnet information: host only selected
Tick in connect a host virtual adapter to this network
Tick in use local shop service to distribute ip address to vms
DHCP settings:
Network: vmnet1
Start ip address: 192.168.68.1
End ip address: 192.168.68.254

New challange have seen references to TIS 2010 on the Internet but any download site i have visited so far either needs you to register or upload files!!! AND they all seem very dodgy!

Any ideas folks

INPA will automaticallly start the Edibas server. If it doesn't there is a problem. I assume that you put your environment variable correctly or you'd probably be getting an error such as api32.dll or another. But noticing you have an Alpina may also be the issue. It's like a Land Rover...all pieced together so nothing matches exactly. Just because it detects terminal 15/30 doesn't mean it's going to read. What is the month/year of car?

Well I've had an interesting and very frustrating time with this whole setup. Under no circumstances would the bloody thing talk to the car. INPA would not work and gave an error that it couldn't talk to any module in the car. I originally put it down to me not following instructions, or Windows 7 64 bit or the car being an Alpina (which is a hotchpotch of bits from the Bimmer parts bin) and in the end I gave up.

Anyhoo, being a tenacious (bloody minded) sort of chap, and having an old Dell laptop lying around, I built a Windows XP laptop intending it to be dedicated to the task and tried again. Same fault :headbang:

So after much research and working through various ideas from people I decided to take the cable apart and double check pins 7 and 8 were linked as they should be. They seemed to be but it didn't look right. A tap of the fingernail on the pin link and it just fell off! A dry joint! So a quick session with a soldering iron and try again and it works! :dance2:

So, check the cable before you give up folks. It would appear that a number of people have had issues with cables from the chappie recommended above.

Now to learn how to use the coding tools... :?

Have you tested this? My Indy couldn't get this working, he said it was deactivated but it stayed on.. would love rid of it :D

I originally bought a cable and software from eBay - was astonsihed to see the installation notes extend to 54 pages!!! But followed instructions and it installed and worked.

Then I found www.BMtechnic.co.uk via M3 Cutters who supplied a MUCH simpler set of software including very good one click installation with support and also happy to help with operational issues and have issued some 'How to Guides'

Same sort of prices as eBay but I am much happier to use them as then can/will help with issues
