Software DIS/SSS/INPA etc

Well I have installed the full suite of software on a laptop and it was a nightmare. In fact its fair to say I have inatalled the software 6 or 7 times on a Windows 64 bit machine, but got there in the end. Currently cant install TIS on 64 bit but thats ok as I have it on my desktop. NCS Expert wont run either on 64 bit so have created a second partition and installing 32 bit Win 7 on that and will then re-install. Meanwhile all else is running on 64 bit.

Now have used SSS Progman and sucessfully altered key codes so happy with that and have sucessfully set up a DIS session and seen all the modules but not sure what to do then. Some modules are black on green and some white on black, some will have a ? against them and others a !.

So the question is can anybody here tell me how to use the program please.

BTW happy to do key coding in Worcestershire!!

Which program do you want to know, SSS v32 is basic as it is limited to what you can change. Use NCSexpert to do major coding changes.

Here is my list for the codes and which module there in:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amq__Aa0CePNdF9Hcl9kQW9PQ3VhZFNmX0h0SjFvMmc

DIS shows you when ran want you have on the car and any faults, you can click on them to see what the fault is and run a check, you can also clear faults too.

INPA allows you to see the various parameters of the cars whilst engine is running.

In the instructions it says not to go any further if INPA doesn't work, it seems to connect as I can get some data but the S54 isn't listed under the E85 box, will I still be able to code the options list.

Hi Daz. I'm having a 'mare with it too. It flat refuses to talk to #69 on any of my computers. I need to plug into a "standard" BM to make sure it's not the fact that the Alpinas are made up of various parts from the factory. I might take the setup on the Cotwold run today and see if anyone will let me plug in...

I had the same issue, I guess the software is to old. However it proves its working so you can use SSS to code key and car as big have done.

Stuart,
Have you install all software, if you run SSSv32 how far does it go, I use to get a problem with not communicating with car, problem was in VMware change memory settings to recommended and not as computer had set.

You need to launch IFHSrv32.exe from the C:\EDIABAS\Bin folder. To communicate as well

Just coded mine, finally. Was hoping I could get the front lights to come on when unlocked but no such luck.

I don't think I can get the fault code reader working on mine though as my ip isn't appearing in the diag head box.

Just INPA/EDIABAS at the moment. I'm mainly interested in the diagnostics. I've got an intermittent parking sensor and want to find out which one it is before a run to the dealers. The server starts automatically.

Tapatalking...

At the moment, I get no response from the car. Both indicators are solid as the instructions indicate they should be, but I just get an error, no response from whatever module I am trying to talk to

Losing the will to live with it to be honest.

Have you tried the comms one or the stereo that worked on mine even without selecting an engine.

We running INPA is the car engine running or not, INPA needs the diagnostic plug program running then click on run in the app, it should show the word FREE running down the page, if you have a problem it will so up there.

Same problem as me, I have tried on two or three PC's and keep getting the same issue :headbang:

Let me know if you find a fix, its saying the ip is already being used on my virtual manager.

Have you got antivirus or firewall on pc?
if so turn them off.
Check in control panel and system, the in device manager that comm 1 is set correctly.

Well if SSS and INPA work then check memory setting in VMware on DIS
Also on top right of DIS is both adapters lite up? If not you have to create an interface via instructions.
I had similar issue but dis and INPA worked but SSS didn't. Now I have all working after wiping laptop and reinstalling.
