Definitely driving first, cars second.

It's the same questions as: Which do you prefer, sex or women!

I prefer cars, I like driving but cars are like art to me, if I could've put my old 911 on a stand to walk around it I would have, same with some of the other cars I've had too, the Z included .

+1

The main reason I chopped in the 35iS for the 435xd was because driving is more important than the car :D.

I drive the 435 everyday - the 35iS was weekend / special occaisons.

I like cars, I like looking at them, reading about them, watching them, cleaning them but I guess the pleasure really comes from driving. Uncertain routes, new places, old favourites. The type of vehicle might enhance that experience but overall i think I prefer the actual driving.

I'm still struggling with this :scratchhead:

For me its like asking:

Do you prefer eating
or
Do you prefer food

I just cant separate the driving from the car :|

Both again - I love cars hence me owning (too) many. Especially the Golf, is a piece of art that I don't drive a lot but like looking at as and when - like looking at a painting.

I am also guilty of opening the garage and just looking at the 911 and the X5 which I both love (to own and drive). The Audi I do not love, just a daily. The Abarth is fun in itself but is quite hard work as it is like a go-kart which can not absorb any bumps what so ever. My view on the gearbox is fairly well known :)

:?... WHAT THE ****? :dizzy:

Logically that makes sense, but we all know - when you drive something every day .. it's less special, less of an occasion.

I'll throw in another personal anecdote might help your decision.

On this occasion I was driving a Mk1 Nissin Micra 1.2 down the back lanes between Launceston and Liskheard. It's a quirky piece of road that is typical B road complete with very narrow sections and the occasional pheasant in the road. My point is it was made for a small hatch. Next thing I noticed a White Viper in my rear view mirror. So not wishing to get in his way I upped my pace and started to actually drive the car from door handle to door handle. Every narrow twisting section I would pull a few corners ahead and every sniff of a starlight he would charge after me. After 5 or 6 miles of this I knew there was a straight section coming up, so I took the opportunity, before we got there, to let him pass. Got a big thumbs up and a smile, as I waved him by. He might have been driving a Viper and I might have been driving a Micra, but we were both enjoying driving our cars down that lane. :D :driving:

Lol, very tough, but if you like driving then I think you'd find driving just about anything / everywhere interesting and enjoyable, can you say the same about 'sexing'?

:poke:

I am sorry but I had a Micra as a loan car once and it's the worst car I have ever driven by a country mile and bearing in mind my first car was a Skoda Super Estelle 120L so I have experience of a diabolical car, but I just don't think it gets much worse than a Micra and I would entertain walking easily before I got behind the wheel of a Micra again.

The Micra is just woeful in every way for me, however the most favourite car I have owned is my Nissan 200SX so I don't have anything against Nissan at all, the GTR isn't bad either :driving: :D

We had a red micra as a second car years ago, it was a nippy little thing around town :driving:

Precisely my point. I was never a massive fan of our Micra, though it was nippy and you could throw about a little bit before the under steer kicked in. It was the driving I enjoyed that day, not the car. :D
