Makes me in the minority with you. Just got in from a meal out with friends, taxis there and back. Lovely night, apart from being kicked out at 2200.dr_john said:I seem to be in a minority here but I'm going out a fair bit.
I visit shops like the local Tesco and drop by my local pub for a pint now and again, even been out for a meal or two with the old lady.
I say all will die. We don't live forever. The point that millions of people miss, is that Covid 19 passes very easily from person to person and somewhere down the line those 770 will infect more people and so on. We really do not know enough about this virus to say, "Oh, I have it but I feel fine." Millions of virus's lie dormant until the body is weakened, then they strike. The best place to catch any virus is in a hospital and many people admitted to hospital catch virus's, pneumonia and other killers when they had to have their broken leg treated or something unconnected to the virus that killed them.Z4C_er said:Just heard about the 770 uni students getting covid.
How many do you think will die?
I say none.
You think all of these 770 students will die from Covid?BeeEmm said:I say all will die. We don't live forever. I compare people's attitude to Covid 19 with seeing FOG warning lights on a Motorway and thinking there is no bloody fog here I'm not reducing speed just before colliding with the stationary cars in front whose drivers thought the same.
I have no idea what they will die from. If I was interested enough I would invent a track and trace system and follow these people throughout their lifetime and have my team register their cause of death, but to be honest, I can't be arsed.Z4C_er said:You think all of these 770 students will die from Covid?

No guidance saying you can't meet other households indoors in groups of 6 or less down here so it's fine.brillomaster said:Forgive my ignorance, but how did you go out for a meal with friends? I would love to do that, but cant see how its possible to maintain social distancing without sitting at different tables, which then means its not really dinner with friends. Or did you book a table for 6, but have the two chairs in the middle free?

Z4C_er said:but what has not been allowed to happen is the herd immunity.
earthdweller said:By all accounts .. one student tested positive so they tested them all
770 were found to be positive .. only 78 had ANY symptoms at all, all minor, none required any treatment at all
So, based on the fact that none of them knew they had it, even those that had a symptom of it didn’t think they had it, nor had sought any treatment
I’d imagine the death toll would be zero
Further to that I reckon if they lined all 60m of us up and tested all of us I reckon the number of positives would blow their minds.
