SmartTop finally ordered... Now Installed.. Dangerously!

But what a PITA to clean :|

At that price I'd go for the new style AC Schnitzers that have replaced the old style Type 3 in my sig pic. Plus they would fit correctly without messing the car about

Tim.

Ac schnitzer 20"wheels are around £3600 to £5000 before you even put tyres on and look nowhere near as nice as the Breyton , mine are £1800 with falken453

The 18s will be around 2k and much easier to clean lol. 19s a little more. 20s are just too cartoon IMHO.

Double click won't do anything, it's all done with single hold clicks rather than multiple clicks

So its more than likely that the disarm the tilt/motion sensors will still work then.

I suppose if the worst was to happen and it didnt, I could use the key like they did in the olden days!

Yeh disarm still works on mine

r1andy as a matter of interest why are you selling them so quickly, was the ride that bad?

It's not the wheel arch, it's the inner gard, small plastic bit

I will be getting bbs 20" rims, just a bit thinner at the rear

Any can you post a pic of what needs to be done? My car isn't lowered so might it not be a problem?

Hi stark
Sorry but I would have to take my wheel of to take a picture
If u look at the rear arch, go to 12oclock and look in behind/under the arch and u will see a thin plastic stril about 200mm Long x 10mm wide ' remove this , that's it

But as I've been told by 2 people who have these wheels ,if it's not lowered it will not rub, you will require no adjustments.
Plenty of people have put wider rims on the rear, go to zpost most r running 10.5 rears.

Cheers

Stark, haven't you had problems with cracking on your 19" rears, do you really think 20" wheels with an even lower profile will be any better :D

Every one is entitled to there opinion ,,,personally I think 18" rims look daft on the z4 and do nothing for it

Ps Porsche put 20" rims on the bosxter ,,,,but what would they know

18s might look daft but they don't look comical. I just don't see the point of trying to cram a wheel within the arch and hey if they don't fit, either endure a load of rubbing or hack away to make em fit.

Its a BMW not a Porsche lol
