Ok guys,

I am in improve mode again!!!

If I could upload a photo to this forum without having to have a web site rather than uploading from my PC I would - so I wont.

Anyway, I am about to get lowered springs and currently have the standard run flats and standard 18" wheels on my Motor sport spec and want to replace the wheels. i see that everyone raves over the 108s or CSLs. Are these the best two or are there others.

Photos and comments very welcome :worshipbmw:

PS, how do I upload photos :driving: :driving:

Here is a link that will tell you how to post photos...

I like my 108s a lot. I usually prefer more spokes to a wheel, but I think its the split rims that do it for me.

If I didn't have those, CSLs would definitely be my wheel of choice. Seen a few photos on here with CSLs and they are gorgeous. Might suit the coupe more than the roadster though?

Not a fan of the MV2 alloys on a Z4, look like they should be on a nice E46 330Ci.

When I was looking for my car, I ruled anything out that didn't have ellipsoid 107s. I just love them!!

Style 203's :D

Much of the style of the 108's without the corrosion issues IMO - but Im biased

Ultra rare too :D

Simple question but no definative answer - everyone will just suggest their own wheels

CSLs are lovely, genuine ones are 19" though and I couldn't live with anything bigger than 18" (and IMO 18" CSL replicas don't look right).

Any excuse for posting a photo... These are the 202-style 18" alloys (very similar to the 107-style "Ellipsoids" but subtly different and newer design I think?):

108s everytime - 4 years and no corrosion!

I've swapped from corroded 108's to MV2's and I think they look loads better.I never thought I'd say that when I bought my Z as I adored the 108's.Just got p*ssed off with trying to keep them from eating themselves. CSL's need to be 19", the elipsiods look gr8 on the Z4 too.

tough one...
polished csls do obviously look the dog's, and those 202's are really nice...

but looking around, I do struggle to find anything I like more than 108s! After seeing cj10jeeper, and Ben.'s 108s on here... I'm planning on getting mine refurbed with flash chrome stars and polished rims next year.

I would suggest BMW Performance Double Spoke 269 18" wheels. The tyres on 108 can fit 269 perfectly. My new set of 108 was replaced last year under new car warranty, but now one wheel shows sign of minor corrosion. Do you think I can claim another new wheel under warranty if it is less than 1 year old?

Can someone put these 269 wheels on E85 roadster/coupe and see if they look nice?

Not a fair question really as it's all about personal opinion and thank goodness, else we'd all have the same I started on ellipsoids thought thye were too heavy (but a great wheel) and went to the 108's. Will never ever change them

ooh, now they're nice... tell you what, if you send me a set, I'll let you know how they look ;)

I like my 203s because they kinda make the zed look like a giant-sized Hot Wheels car... but I'll admit a secret admiration for the ellipsoids and would love to see them on a coupe! I think they (203) were standard fare on the stateside 3.0si coupe... so only "rare" here because coupes in general are more rare than the ragsters.

108s for me - I like the split rim look and now into my 5th year with no corrosion problems (shuldn't have said that......!) :driving:

Great, I was hoping for this sort of response:-)

IMO having looked at them all I like either the 108s or the 202s. I think the 108's look really sporty whilst the 202's look really stylish

This is my Zed but does anyone know what my wheels are as I am new to this car at the moment?

Also my local Beemer specialist suggested that lowering the springs only looks good with the 19" rims. Do any of you have the lowered springs with 18" rims you could post a picture of please?

I like the 108's if only they wouldnt get corroded with only a slight breeze - Easy to clean to.

But i am thinking of getting some 269's - prob is i dont want to go bigger then 18's.

Those are MV2's.. looks smart but must be a bugger to clean... and imo i think lowering will look good on any size wheel - even 17's. All my previous cars i have lowered and none had 19's.
