Ok, a simple question for E85 to E89 Z4'rs?

...Was it a good move, or did you hanker after your old Zed after the initial fun wore off?

I ask because I used to have a series 1 SIII Elise and then made up my mind that I liked the series 2 better, until I actually drove one then realised that something was missing which I couldn't quite put my finger on.
Yes the S2 was more refined, slightly more powerful etc, etc, but it just wasn't fun to drive like the more coarse S1 was, so I gave it a miss and stuck with the S1 for another 5 years until some crazy Dutchman offered me silly money for the car...

You will get many different answers here.

I test drove a 35is to "Upgrade" over my E86m and it wasn't for me so I didn't swap.

Think it depends what your after. If you want something more modern, and possibly more comfortable, I don't think you will go wrong.

Absolutely loved my E85 3.0i. Still miss it but for me the E89 is much better for me as a DD.
Hankered for one after purchasing my E85 back in 2010 and then seeing Starks E89 at a London Meet. Never dreamt that one day I'd own it. :D
Love the power of the E89 35i and the DCT box is sublime in all modes. Much more luxurious cabin and a far better place for me to spend my commute.
Absolutely get the comments that the E85 is more of a "drivers" car and wouldn't hesitate to own one again if it was only to be used as a weekend toy.
The "M" was never an option for me as not available with an Auto box. Love the Alpina as well but ruled out for same reason.
Looking forward to the "National" in a few weeks. First chance to give it a proper run. :)
