Scottish meet - 7/8th August 2010 - Skye!

Might have to send her out for some midge hoods tomorrow, unless we can buy some on route somewhere.

Probably be able to get some at the Green wellie stop In Tyndrum, we have a scheduled stop there en route. :thumbsup:

Nosa, you don't have to worry about the midgies. Just pull Magnum out of the bag and they'll be frozen in their tracks...

Looks like we might be able to make soemthing of a fashion statement for midge hoods in 2010 - if enough of us wear them - we've now got ours too !! lovely indeed

Really looking forward to this trip now - just need some more sunshine for the bbq & beer....

Pawn, think I passed you on the M74 near Hamilton this evening - I was going south but it looked like your car going north.

Possibly... was travelling with Siftah, arrived around 8:00pm. Typical, my first spotted and I missed it :roll:

Midges, little feckers! Were horrific last night, no idea what they're like this morning as I'm still in my tent...

Yesterdays driving was great, looking forward to the return leg...

A great day driving alright! Some fantastic roads.... really looking forward to today - settled down for a midge free breakfast!

Slept fatastically thanks to the gift of ear plugs... apparently a motorbikeist left at about 4am! Also slept through that annoying family.

Been a great weekend so far - brilliant roads and lovely folk. Pity the missus didn't enjoy the camping experience! Currently sitting having lunch in Fort William - decided to go back down through Glencoe to stop and take some photos.

Just in the Door.... What a great weekend. Its been 10 years since I last visited Skye, I would swear it has got more Gorgeous..Just had a text off PawnSacrifice, Currently on A9 heading south, I do not envy his and siftah's trip back home....Loooooonng Drive.

Seriously thanks M8, think a great time was had by all what a run! 390 round trip no it was better 604. And I told all you happy campers that

Well that was some weekend: the best sign of a good weekend of roof-down driving? Sunburnt scalp, ouch... 8)

Great weekend away, great scenery, great weather and cracking chat and company to complete it. Just a bugger about the ferry c*ck up but hopefully I'm forgiven. At least it was a great road that we got to drive twice and not something boring! Some of my memories of the weekend:

* 3rd gear overtakes
* Fort William - Mallaig x 2
* Seagulls
* Damn Harley riders
* Transit vans
* MIDGES

And the figures:
532 miles (take about 50miles off that to get the Stirling-Skye-Stirling round trtip distance)
OBC mpg: 37.6mpg (tank 1), 39.2mpg (tank 2)
Real-world mpg: 35.7mpg (tank 1), TBC (tank 2)
Number of midge bites: lots
Number of overtakes: lost count :evil:

Photos are downloading from the camera as I type - apparently Jo's taken a few good ones of Nosa's car (from the front obviously so you can't see his small wheels :poke: )

Took you twice ally. Oh but "you only go fast on the twisty bits"! MA BUM! p.s. It was a poxy Renault van don't paint all white van drivers with the same
brush.

And so......It begins :oops:

Was thinking, there will be a lot of pics from everyone, Maybe we should all upload our top 5 from the trip and maybe start a road trip (c) type thread in the gallery section?
