Just to note, srhutch's instructions will be about 95% complete. The last bit is missing :P

I would be very surprised if it did work, the new 5 and 7 have idrive as standard so the system is designed to work without GPS, but the E46, E39, E85/6 was only ever supplied with monitor and GPS/Nav.

Hi guys!

I've read this topic a few times and now I'm certain that I'll do the SatNav retrofit :). I bought the screen/monitor and I'm chasing the other parts. This topic gives a lot of information. I know that the day will come when I'll be asking many questions about this project, so I'm glad you're here  . And if someone happens to see a needful part for me, please PM :) . Thank you very much.

I have the retrofit instructions somewhere, PM me your email address and I will send them through.

srhutch,
I don't need the retrofit instructions immediately but are these still available :sos: ?

Cheers

Hi Dice

Sure are both PVR and I have them.

The hardest part for you to find at a sensible price will be the headunit, good luck with your search though.

Okay, I'll send you pm  . I noticed that it really is hard but I have plenty of time so no problem. Thanks!

Instructions sent, it took me a while to get the parts but got some bargins so it pays to be patient.

Hi all!

Still searching parts. I tried realoem, but I think it's not working (The specified part 65906971353 was not found).

So I ask from you does this one fit for my Z4:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-MK4-MKIV-Navigation-DVD-E38-E39-E46-X5-M3-GPS-/220741265473?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3365346841

Expensive, I know... but tell him :) !

Thanks

You were and you are right. CID controller (headunit) is the hardest part to find. All the other parts I have :).

Cheers
