Rugby World Cup

Yep, the Romanians didn't exactly lie down and roll over.

So many possibilities yet to come. Not sure if I fancy Scotland vs England / Wales or Australia to be honest... I'd hope to play a weakened Wales, but to do that we'd have to turn over SA, or Wales would have to beat Australia... And so by definition wouldn't be weak

Excited, expectant, confident? ....... possibly, bricking it? definitely!

My Welsh is rusty having a smattering from growing up with only Welsh TV (Pobol y Cwm etc) on our side of the Severn in the 70's, but yes Cymru Am Byth also :)

Farrell always loses it under pressure.
Arguably he cost them the game against Wales with a late tackle on the full back, which resulted ina Welsh Penalty rather than an English linout at 15m in the last 5 mins.

Today he got sin binned but I think if he hadnt the other guy (Burgess 23) would have gone instead for the high tackle in the same incident.

Hot headed Daddys boy. He should have been straight swapped for George Ford at HT.

I never want to hear an egg-chaser criticise the English football team again after that embarrassment of a tournament. At least when we've hosted one we got to semis in one and won the other! :D

I'm getting stick off English and half English relatives (excluding my Dad) for me reaction to this evening. I fully understand Scotland still might get Pumped and go the same way as England but Scotland don't expect to win anything to be fair. A bit like an exam we show up and hope for the best.

Unfortunately England expected to win every game and the tournament and when things don't go their way the frustrations show and silly mistakes happen. BBC were posting up tweets from 'World Cup winning' Matt Dawson and he maybe should remember that although he was part of a winning squad, it was some key players like Mr Wilkinson that helped them win it in 2003. I still think Stuart Lancaster is the best coach since Woodward and it would be a shame for him to go now. Okay they might not have won this on their own turf but they need time and his guidance to grown. I know he's been in since 2011 but it's still a relatively 'young' squad and they need a bit more time.

*edit due to spelling and grammar thanks to predictive text, gin and vodka

I saw Scotland get spanked by South Africa, then had to rush out to see Michael McIntyre - did I miss something ?

:?

Would I have laughed more if I'd stayed home I wonder...

Oh, and I've always thought Farrell is a thug - should've been a soccer player with his attitude... Shame though, personally I'd not have wished such an exit on England :(

Exactly the same average age as Aussies, 27, but 17 fewer caps on average. That may be the telling factor.

Oh Bing! Michael McIntyre is quite funny, I hope you enjoyed it. Both being Scots we shouldn't laugh at others misfortunes but we do get it enough and maybe come the 10th it'll be our turn? Hopefully not for a change!

Shame England are out but it was a tough group and with three big teams one was always going to loose out.

Maybe. The team need to play together more often. It might not always be the 'right' squad but together they learn and grow to be a better team.

Today Scotland went for a 'heavier' team weight wise, but that probably wasn't the best choice considering the previous results. Go for tried team to win but heavier untried team to defend and hope not to concede too many points.

I think next game, it will be back to the previous configuration and it's a 'Must' win game. All I can say is either way we will have one happy and unhappy bunny in my house.

So, USA beat SA, Scotland beat Samoa and win the group, Wales lose to Aus, Scotland Wales QF. Odds anyone ?

At least 1000/1 I would think. Can't see USA beating SA plus they (USA) also still have Japan to play too! I'm going for a Wales vs Scotland Semi with Wales topping their group and Scotland Second.

Otherwise it's going to be Japan. Talking of which, anyone tried to get a hold of a shirt? Like hens teeth! Mike wants one, not interested in the USA, just his 'mother' land

hopefully Ireland will spank Italy tomorrow! Shame England are out, but the Aussies were on top form.
