As Bing said, I doubt if the players even realised themselves given the speed it all happens in the moment.

Its the same with tackles, when you see them in Slow-mo on the big screen they look far worse than what you see in half a second in real time and then you notice all the minor/ technical infringements within.
 
Much better game to watch than I'd expected ( I'm Irish so had no bias for victory on either side). I agree though that it's fine to use video ref if there is doubt but once the decision is made it should not be reversed!
 
I could be wrong ......... but as I understand it, its not just a video operator involved, but an off pitch referee as well ........ whose job it is to catch the stuff that the on field ref misses .......

The TMO is there to assist the Ref, IF he asks to re-look at something. He isnt there to interfere and tell the Ref what to do.

I have to say that having watched the first half of Tonga v Georgia today, ref Nigel Owens is absolute quality. He is in charge of the game, not the TMO. ( as demostrated when the TMO adamantly called a Neck tackle on 36 minutes. Nigel asked for the replay and could see no offence, so played on..

Shame he wont be able to do the Final, though as Wales will be playing in it .... :poke:

Ah Welsh - thats why you thought the ref was biased in favour of the English :poke: :wink:

Owens is the best ref for sure. Even if he is Welsh :D

They don't cheat — mostly... But they do okay to the whistle :wink:

Yeah, this SA v Japan game is good entertainment. The Japs seem to have the Boks on the back foot at the moment. 19-19 56mins in. !

Fantastic. Best end to a game ive seen in years ! :thumbsup:
Great handling and discipline by the Japs at the end. They must have had the ball for the last 7 or 8 minutes without letting the Boks get their hands on it.
Fair play to them too as they could have easily taken the penalty for the draw.

Here we go again .....
Bloody Screen operator at Twickers influencing the game.
That French try had been given again. The ref had asked for the TMO to look at the forward pass and a decision had been made.
He never queried the grounding at all.
It's really starting to piss me off now.
