TODAY IS COLLECTION DAY!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I don't think I've been this excited about collecting a car from a garage before. Obviously I'll need to drive 200 odd miles to scrub the tyres in but after tha I'll be in heaven..  :roundel: :trampoline: :crazydude: :crazydude:

Come past mine on your way home dude! Milford :) I want to see how it looks! :D

Hi Ed, I'd love to but on a tight time frame. Got to get back and changed from my work clothes and back out to the pub in Romsey for 8pm. Not picking the car up until about 6:20pm. We'll have to arrange something another time. I'll pm you some dates I'm free.

Still leaves you the time to do half of the required scrub in mileage!

Hope that it's all that you are hoping for!

If you and Ed do meet for a mini-hoon then please let me know. I haven't seen any coupes recently, as there were none at last Sunday's West Sussex run!

I will be sure to keep you in the loop RickRob. Got any nice roads around your way? Maybe a pub lunch on a Sunday or something. Petersfield looks to be halfway between us all. The B2141 looks like it might be a good road or any of the other ones around South Harting? Not been there myself but they look ok on google maps.

So...............

I didn't get the car on Friday. I was about to set off but thought I'd ring Will to double check. All the parts were on but he hadn't quite completed alignment yet. I really wanted to pick it up on Saturday morning once alignment was done but with Will and his reputation to uphold he suggested that this wouldn't be a good idea. He said he wanted to give a perfect car back to me with no niggles. He wanted to give it a full road test before giving it back. This just oozes more professionalism from TWG.

Well, I've just had a phone call from will after completing a test drive and he has said it drives and handles superbly. She's all ready for collection!!! I'm heading up there after work and i think I'm going to have a grin from ear to ear on the way home. All I say is roll on 5pm!!!

ITS HOME!!!!

Full report to come but what I will say is wooooooooo, plus I'm glad I've got those new boots on. Came around a corner on a B road only to find a tractor and trailer parked across the road. Absolute stupidity. It was dark, hardly any lights on and decided to get out of his tractor to close the gate behind him while leaving it and the huge trailer blocking both lanes. Was probably going slightly over 60 but she came to a standstill in seconds. Brown pants moment indeed.

Back grills arrived from forum member Simo, many thanks. I've also bought some 4D carbon wrap to do the door pulls with as the silver paint has markings on it. Also purchased were some LED sidelights so all of this will be going on the car this weekend. Pics to follow!!

A few jobs done this weekend however after separating my finger nails from my finger I decided to give installing the led slidelights a miss as I didn't fancy all the fiddly work.

Replaced chrome gills will black (thanks Simo), old grills:

New grills (sorry, I know the car is filthy)

Then decided to carbon wrap the door handles as the silver paint was worn in places. Not too hard to do and a pretty good finish.
Old handles:

During the process:

Finished:

Also this is probably the most random thing I've ever found in a car......

I decided to see if I had enough carbon wrap to do the gearstick surround (unfortunately I didn't) however when I removed the gator and surround I found these!

At first I was worried they might be some sort of drug.... Under further investigation they turn out to be three samples of men's perfume.

Really can't understand what they are doing there but hey at least I'm not an unknowing drug smuggler.

Neat job with the handles young man.

I like the grills on your black car but I'm not too sure now that they'll suit my Sterling Grey Z4.

Hmmmm, decisions, decisions.

I agree, I don't think black grills work on all z4 colours but as my car is all back, even the wheels and interior, the chrome on the front seemed out of place.

I'm now tempted to wrap more of the interior as I like the finish.

looks good mate the grills look much better  I have got some spare tinting film if you want to do your fog
lights and indicators?

Thanks. Possibly, have you got any pictures of yours tinted?

These are the only pictures I have I got rid of the others off photobucket and have never done the fogs as I have a
M bumper on the front. You can have the tint if you want to have a play with it if you don't like it it will come off easy,
its just sat in my draw of stuff catching dust just seems a waste to just bin it
