Had the car one day :(

Water leaking from the front edge part of the sunroof and running / leaking on top of the drivers sun visor and dropping onto the drivers seat

where are the drainage holes guys, or am I better replacing all the roof seals?

Kind Regards

Nick

You need to examine the seals very carefully, see if you can find any stainig or similar that marks where exactly the water is entering before you go replacing seals.
I do know the front roof seal is adjustable at each end via a screw but not aware of how to do it.
Sure someone will know

Can also try sitting inside while someone pours a jug of water onto small areas at a time. That may help identify the point the water is getting in at, bearing in mind it could be tracking along a seal for a fair way first.

Once you have found your leak, I would also check around all other seals relating to the roof and bootlid (there are a few) for leakage or water marks. Also check the battery well for any standing water, or water staining.

If you have any perished seals or a misaligned roof, I would contact the dealer (if it was a dealer) who sold it and see what they have to say.

Thanks Guys,

I will try and find whats going on with the seals, more tests etc.

I will make the dealer aware, I no longer tolerate things like I used to regarding cars, given I have 30 days to get my money back, it might be that I do just that, sad as that may seem time is of the essence in things like this really.

Kind Regards

I have noticed that a small black flap is missing from the passenger side roof locating lug/ pin, at the top of the screen edge

I'd have that straight back, don't even attempt to fix yourself, surely they have seen that before selling it unless it was stored in an indoor sales showroom, who knows how much rainwater has got into those electrics in the centre console

Thanks Mr Tourette

My thoughts exactly, not satisfactory quality, or fit for purpose…….jeeeeez I know how to pick em, first the Porsche now the Z4……

Sprayed the top edge of the screen, and along the seal with the karcher
I would not be a happy bunny; having to trace water leaks on a car you've just bought :x
I noticed from the first pictures you posted, it looks like the dealer keeps all cars outside? If so then they will have known of this issue when selling it to you.

To be fair, it's not the sort of thing you could check when buying, really.

Looks a bit excessive with the amount of water.

I read on here once that the drain that runs inside the A post can block at the bottom, you need to remove the front wheel liner though to get to it. Never had the need to do it myself so not 100% sure if it's a fix for you are not.

I would be getting the garage who sold the car to you doing it though for sure.

Thanks Lads

Im just gutted really, I don't know what to say……she is such a beautiful car…. :x :x

Its coming in above the internal mirror and the edge of the drivers windscreen APost edge
That could be the top windscreen bond failed, judging by where it's dripping. Did you get any whistling on your drive home?
Regardless though, I would reject the car asap.
Then look for another, better one. That is not a common problem with E89s from what I have seen.
Good luck and keep us informed.
