Roof Down Aggressiveness?

After owning a Roadster and a Coupe the aggressiveness i put down to other drivers who wish they could drive a car like a Z4 but choose not too because 1 they can't afford and 2 their
circumstances dictate otherwise because they've banged out a tribe of kids who are like there parents are being a drain on the benefits system.

For some reason, a Z4 with its roof down seems to be a magnet for abuse. Lots of stories on here and will probably remain an unanswered question.

Another reason I didn't want to buy the Roadster. London is full of idiots. Even on a hot day I'm not risking having something chucked at me/spat on/compromising my safety by strangers getting close. Besides coupe looks better (sorry).

Some peoples behaviour when driving is very different to how they behave or you would expect them to behave if you had just met them through work or socially. As long as they look like they are not going to actually run into me I just ignore them and reconcile myself with the thought that Darwinian natural selection will hopefully eventually remove them from the gene pool ...

... other times though I just floor it and watch them disappear in my mirrors :D

I've had a few tailgaters, mostly chav chariots and rep-mobiles, but I don't think it's been any more than in my other cars. It does feel closer in the Zed as you are closer to the back and lower down. To date nobody has been abusive, touch wood it stays that way.

Apart from your quite obviously deluded view of the coupe's looks - because an e85 with the roof down looks nothing short of awesome, and you know it - I can understand this fear, especially as a woman. However I'm not sure such overt aggression is that common. Verbal abuse is sort of common going by what I have read on here, though I have not experienced it so far - perhaps I have selective deafness based on not giving a fu*k what anyone else thinks :?

If anyone starts shouting abuse just turn the radio up

never had a single issue with abuse in any of my convertibles..... so i guess you lot must rub people up the wrong way :P

..... in the past 10 years ive had

supra aerotop
mr2 t-bar
mx5
z4 e86
z4 e89

but i guess there's always a first time..... if it does happen, i will just flip them the bird and carry on on my merry way :D

I think it's got to be a regional matter;Surrey,Sussex and Hampshire have been very kind to me.No abuse only compliments.
