How noisy are your roof motors? Mine sounds a bit strained

Also, when closing the roof does the last few inches of closing happen really quick (like slamming)

Mine sounds like any other convertible ive heard and yes the last few inchs tend to slam as the latches hit home. Its the latches that pull the roof down tight.

My roof closing sounds like the whole thing is going to rip off.
The motor is quiet but the material and wires sound awful.
It has been worked on twice and i have been told nothing is wrong.

I noticed that the motor must be the same unit thats in the Peugeot 307cc. My dad has got one and the noise it makes is 100% identical!

Smooth as silk, no strain on the motor and slows down as it comes in to land on the screen then the latches take over and pull it down. Opening you can just hear the motor change note as it finishes pulling it down to the bootline

It may be the fact that mine is up and down nearly every day as I store it in the garage roof down when dry.

Has anyone heard of these "tension belts" before?
I wonder if they are difficult to install..

Mine makes little noise opening or closing.

As it finishes opening/closing the note of the motor changes slightly, a more angry tone if you know what I mean... :?

Actually i meant about that slamming issue.
When i close the roof, it slams down into the locking channels on top of the windshield.. As it would fall down freely the last 4 inches

Mine does similar. Bit of a thud from the last couple of inches. Like others, it makes a bit of a weirder noise right at the end. Almost a 'clicking' sound for a second.

Seems smooth enough to me though.... famous last words!

Mine sounds exactly like the video, but the thud at the end isn't quite as loud. Motor sounds are identical.

Well my motor doesnt make any sound, because it died last september
Im planning to fix it when that snow melts away at spring..
