E89 roof not closing properly

Hey Z4 gurus, had my z89 2009 23i for nearly a year and has worked great, but today when lowering the roof, it goes down, boot lid closes, but windows don’t come up and sounds like still trying to close. Then when trying to raise it the roof goes up, boot goes down and seems to close, but clam shell then doesn’t move, seems like a boot lid closing sensor issue. I don’t have an obd reader and no previous roof faults, any ideas ?

Sadly the answer involves getting any codes read otherwise it’s a guessing game where you could spend a lot of money and not fix it…

... or just orientating on the common recommendations, to be found in the HowTo section. Saves money and effort. No code reader required.

Wouldn't expect that.
