Ronk update

Glad you’re at home and on the mend. Take it easy for a few weeks and enjoy family time.

Merry Xmas Ron.

Great news that you are on the mend.

Fit and well just in time for the Spring weather and driver with the top down again.

I had my quiet Christmas day but was In bed sleeping for most of Boxing Day - got up today at 1200 - 36hrs bed rest.
I feel like ive been dragged tho hedge backwards - i reckon recovery takes much longer for us oldies!

Sats seem to be circa 92%

Glad you’re home and I hope you’re continuing to feel better with each passing day.
The shape of the oxygen-haemoglobin dissociation curve is such that the difference between 92% and >97% oxygen saturation in terms of partial pressure of oxygen is large, with 92% saturation representing a very significant reduction from normal, physiological oxygen levels. Given your recent history of pneumonia, it’s likely a reflection of reduced gas exchange as the consolidation in your lungs continues to resolve, but if your sats don’t pick up or fall further make sure you contact your doctor.

Thank you for that explanation
I measure my Sats on my Apple Watch prior to this episode it would ago 97/100

It’s currently at 94% so I’m not out of the woods yet it seems
I’ve got a follow up X-ray and a GP meeting in a while.
During the day I’ve taken readings and after a jolly good coughing session they raised to 97% and sitting at 95 as a norm

The NHS app seems to indicate a fairly long recovery period. Here’s me thinking that I’ll be fine in a week or two!
