I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ron on a couple of occasions on forum runs up in the Scottish Borders and sat next to him and his good lady for lunch on one of them...in a dungeon iirc :D He is the very definition of a true gentleman and a forum member I hold in the highest regard. I hope you make a full recovery soon Ron.
Si

Yes, I remember that well Simon.
Think it was one of my rus, if it's the place I am thinking of.
It was a bit full down I there.

Like Patriot66, I have had the pleasure of meeting Ron on several of my meets over the years, since 2010 possibly?
And as said, you are a lovely, genuine guy, who is always a pleasure to speak to.
Hopefully you are on the road to recovery now mate.
Take care

Great to read that things are moving the right way Ronk. Maybe home for Christmas or New Year.

Good to hear from you Ron but it sounds like you've had a pretty torrid time.

Thankfully things seem to be improving now so I hope you can be home soon to complete your recovery. Wishing you all the best.

I am being treated very well here in University Hospital North Durham - very attentive staff at all levels and of course I treat them all with the respect they deserve- I think that reflects in their very caring attitude which I appreciate at this low ebb.

I am improving albeit it slowly and Sats are still quite low even on 4l of oxygen by my nose bagpipes!
I might be able to play ye banks and brea s by the time I get out

My lungs are rattling like a Royal Marines snare drum at the Edinburgh Tattoo - I bet they’ve never seen a one man Highland band before!

As you can no doubt deduce I’m keeping my pekka up and this is greatly helped and appreciated by all the well wishes.

I reckon I’m a lucky fella as this is my first ever illness induced hospital stay in my 74 years on the planet. - I hope it is the last.

Thanks again chaps.

Please for the love of God do not let Andy’s post deteriorate into another covid discussion.

Yeah screw that.

Get well soon Ron, cheering for you pal, what's a wee bit of pneumonia, kick its c**t and get back home :telloff: :drinking:

Watching this thread and keeping everything crossed for you, Ron, that you get home for a relaxing Christmas. All the best.

It’s all heading In the right direction at the moment
BP good Sats at 96 % (80% when ambulance brought me in)
Still being pumped with syringes of anti biotics so whilst feeling much improved I think another night in dock at least - then home for r&r
