Evening all, just a wee information post re Ron.
I know there was a post wishing Ron a happy birthday and I posted Ron was in his bed unwell. He’d messaged me earlier that day to say he’d had a rubbish birthday and he was in bed with a heavy cold/flu sort of thing but the good news was it wasn’t Covid related.
Last night Rosemary (Mrs Ronk) phoned me to say there had been a change. Ron had collapsed the night before and had been taken to hospital with respiratory issues. He was admitted to the acute medical ward and was put on oxygen and IV antibiotics as he was struggling to breathe.
Ron contacted me by text himself later this afternoon to say he’d been transferred to the respiratory unit and has had X-rays and got a CT scan this afternoon. It looks like he’s got double pneumonia. He’s still feeling very wobbly and feels ok for a wee while but 10 minutes later doesn’t feel great at all. He’s still on oxygen at the moment and will remain so until his breathing has stabilised.
Ron asked me to let you all know what’s going on and I will update this thread with anything that Ron wishes to share.
Here’s to a full and speedy recover Ron
