Roadster to Coupe - thoughts?

IMO your either a Roadster or Coupe person...
If you were truly a Roadster person you would not have any interest in a Coupe.
Therefore go for the Coupe... :driving:

+1 Agree completely.
It comes down to Personal choice, for me a car with 2 seats should have no roof

I've had both but don't miss the roadster that much.

I do get a little envious when the sun is beaming and all the rag tops are out.

If I had the space I'd get another for summer weekend days but prefer the Coupe for every day driving.

I recently made the move. The roadster is fun, and I loved the roof down driving.

The coupe is a stunner though, and I've not really missed the roof down action yet.

Ideally I'd have both.

Is it convenience to install the hard top?

About to get prepared to make the move from roadster to coupe. Love the roadster, but think the Coupe looks awesome. Time will tell whether or not I'll miss the roadster!

The coupe is extremely pretty. But I just love roof-down driving.

When I win the lotto, I'll be buying a ///M Coupe and a F-Type V8 S roadster as the ultimate combo.

I love the shape of the coupe, its got a touch of modern E type about it, open the windows, feel the breeze and hear the bark but when its peeing down you'll be pleased you made the right choice, TECC

This one is entirely subjective, I wanted some open to motoring love the roadster so would never contemplate the coupe but that doesn't mean I think there's anything wrong with the coupe. It just isn't what I was looking for, maybe if the Zed was my only car I'd have gone for the coupe from a security and all weather perspective.

I've got a Roadster but find myself covetting Coupe's on a regular basis. I'm not sure why but they seem more exlusive and special maybe.

Good call on the F-Type above though, although from experience, the interior was pretty boring.

Sure the coupe is pretty, and if it were to be your only car then the choice would swing the way of the coupe...........But for fun motoring at any speed you'll never beat a roadster (And it's what the Z was designed to be 8) .

Stu.

I've had several convertibles in the past (including a Z3) and the novelty always wore off quickly. Yes it's lovely driving with the roof down on a warm day/evening, but the amount of times you get to do it in this country are negligible. Give me the quietness, rigidity, lightness, security, boot space and better looks of a hard top any day.

I prefer the looks and rarity of the coupe but I bought my Zed as an indulgence that had to provide roof down motoring so the coupe was never an option. Can't beat driving the roadster on a clear winter's night with the roof down and the heater and seats on

Being able to drive topless is the only reason I have a zed. As good as the Coupe and the E89 with it lid on look, I find the car (E89) noisy and cramped. If it wasn't for the top down drives I would have an M3 or RS4 instead.

You can buy a hardtop for a roadster but you can't get a sunroof in a coupe ;)

The answer is simple, if you smile when driving with the roof down (particularly in tunnels) then stick with the canvas top. If you need more space or don't have off road parking/garage or prefer the looks then go with a coupe.

:)
