Road Tax up again!

This is a contentious one isn't it?? Yep, we are shafted good and proper in the UK but some countries are worse... Singapore, Japan, Denmark...

I take a deep breath, turn on my computer, pour a large scotch and renew online - takes some of the pain away.

And then, enjoy... Thrash the backside off the car whenever possible to justify every single penny I have spent on tax, fuel, insurance and maintenance..

I like it!

The way I see it....if a fat bloke motoring along in his 320d can shout at cyclists for not "paying their bloody tax", then I can shout at him and treat him like a 2nd class citizen for paying less tax (see VED) than me

That's how capitalism works right? I pay more and hence am more important / entitled to take priority.

Hmm, like that idea. How about lane 1 of the motorway is designated for < 100g, lane 2 for < 200g and lane 3 for us?

I presume I pay more road tax for my Zed vs my 320d because I cost the police more in fuel when they chase me in the Zed

its all down to the government taking its lead from Europe, ved was based on cubic capacity , suddenly its based on c02 emissions because as we all know its co2 that is the tool with which government can extract billions and billions from everyone on the planet. thank the green lobby, al fucking gore and all the politicians who subscribe to the co2 will kill us all mantra. they couldn't prove global warming so invented climate change. false science , dodgy dossiers, (I will come to blair in a moment!) ridicule of any opposing viewpoint or david bellamy type questioning of the agenda , when did we last see or hear of him ? he disappeared from public view nearly as fast as Justin lee Collins did when we found out he was a control freak ! personally I think its worth ten quid a week in ved just to stick two fingers up to the cunts in Whitehall.and will continue to do so for as long as I can afford to do so.making sure I get my dollars worth on deserted country roads when I feel the need for speed, we all know where the cameras aren't if you know what I mean. eventually there will be technology in place, either in the roads or fitted into our cars that stop any misdemeanour before you can commit it, but until then.... :driving:  Now, BLAIR, had a vision the other day of a fitting retribution in purgatory for this disgrace of a human being who is now reaping the rewards of all the years spent in power building his network of contacts at our expense which is now enabling him to fill his bank accounts with millions of pounds and dollars and any other currencies he accepts for advising governments , mr fixit, oh and I see mandelson has jumped on the same bandwagon now too..cant express the contempt these two deserve. his just reward would be to be force fed every ill gotten dollar like a foie gras goose !!! don't quite know how I got from ved to blair but needed a bit of a rant

If your car can't do 0-60 in under 6 seconds you aren't allowed to use the fast lane :driving:

That should be a mandatory law full stop!

Although all lanes are the same speed, just some tools like to hog them doing less than the speed limit

Free at point of entry.
I think you mean 'free at point of use'... but there's a lot of health tourism that takes your statement literally...

I always used to say the same thing when I had a fast car...but now I have my 330i I am scared of moving out of the slow lane just in case I haven't got the power to get out of the way of the quicker cars blasting down the middle and outside lanes! :driving:

buy a car like mine reg before 23 march 2006 only £290.

My Discovery was registered seven days later! :x

They raised the duty retrospectively that's what hacks me off!
They (labour) jumped on the "gas guzzler" phrase in the press.
Did you ever see the Blair in an Eco car ?

Option 2: Everyone get yourselves a pre 1st March 2001 car and slash the price in half
