Retrofit Cruise Control

Hi guys,

Anyone know of a dealer that still sells the loom and stalk.

Want to fit to my 3.0si, haven't had a car that didn't have cruise since I was 17 and seriously missing it.

Hi Tuscan63

I'd suggest Sopers as they offer a discount, also they've ordered so many for forum members they'll probably know the part number of the cuff :D

Looks like the correct plug, here's the BMW retro-fit guide showing the connector:

The pre-wired loom is a great bonus on the pre-facelift Zed - glad it went smoothly, its a great mod

Only comment Id make is that the first requirement in your list...

Preface lift Zed - built before October 2004.

After this date the wiring loom isnt present.

good write up though

Did you mean '04? I thought it was only facelifted the once?

yes I did, The retrofit instructions have this cut-off date in them, and also include details of how to install the wiring loom. There have been some members here who had build date post Oct '04 without the looming present so it is correct. Easy enough to check for oneself though

Hello Gannet.

Unfortunately the link to the 'retrofit instructions' page for the additional wiring loom is not working anymore - the page doesn't exist! (not surprising since 2009!) is there any chance you could re-post those instructions? I have recently bought a 2007 Z4 and would like to retrofit the cruise control and all Google searches being me back to your 2009 post!

Many thanks in advanced!

Yes! Marlon did :D

'more convolutive for an ///M'?? Why and in what way?? I'm all ears!
There was a lot of talk a while back of it not being able to be retrofitted to an ///M, but some garage somewhere managed it, but I believe it required some coding whereas the non ///M models didn't.

I could be wrong though and I've been out of the loop for a while as I no longer have the z4. Maybe someone else has some more up to date knowledge?

Thanks Gannet.
I have purchased an electronic manual with the Z4 wiring diagrams. Hopefully that will allow me to work out what's what and how.

It is different on the ///M. I have some information but not had chance to do yet. Also it does need programming on the ///M apparently, enabling factory option cruise control.

Hello srhutch.
Any chance you could share that info with us?? I'd really appreciate it if you could

I checked prices at BMW last week. The equivalent original BMW parts cost 140, so the ebay offering is interesting but not a mega bargain.
