Beware, the previous stalk is now out of production and unavailable from the dealers (it may be found secondhand) and this prompted me to do mine now, before they stop production of my version... I also found the dealer option to be cheaper than those on Ebay.

I find it fine, but then I had the same thing on my 1 Series for over 6 years. Mind you when I first had that sometimes when I went to turn it off I would indicate left!

Most come apart easily, others you just have to pull applying continuous pressure. It will come apart and so far I’ve had no breakages. They are small pins with an interference fit.
