Replacing run flats for none run flats.....what size

Having instigated a thread on suspension up grades the bottom line was "ditch the run flats first" then move on from there.
My question is, do I change to the same tyre sizes or will I need to increase / decrease width / profile or ?
Cheers Sd

You can go up a profile size e.g 225/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear, but I've always stuck with the standard sizes and it's always felt firm, but fine.

I went with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 Vredestein ultra vorti's and after putting a few hundred miles on them, I'm very happy with how they feel.

I've just switched to a 245/40/18 rear to take away some of the inherent understeer that you get from a 3cm stagger. It feels good and also fixes the speedo so that it reads pretty much spot on rather than 2-3mph slow. Next time I change the front I'll use a 235/40/18.

Hi, is there any particular reason for the front / rear profile difference?
Would not running 40 profile both ends not increase the ride comfort saying as you are almost sitting over the rear axle, cheers sd

225/40 and 255/35 have around the same side profiles.

40% of 225mm = 90mm and 35% of 255mm = 89.25mm.
