Why the hell do I need to PROVE to you that this car passes all of your expectations for gods sake your not even in the market to purchase I only need to PROVE this to a perspective buyer not you. What gives you the right to state how to value anything. You make out like your the forum's Judge and Jury and unless the information is exactly as you expect it to be then it's condemned.

If someone finds their item isn’t selling and asks for a critique it’s one thing..but just to lob bricks in the pond cause you can I bad form IMHO

If I pissed on every sale bonfire because I don’t like the price, presentation, wording, detail then there would be an awful lot of damp bonfires..

What one person perceives as inadequate/ misrepresentation/ waffle isn’t necessarily what another person perceives…

I can see someone asking supplementary questions IF they are in the market but if the price /location/other factors already rule out a sale why persist…

At least on the phone / pm / email you can just tell them to f@£€ off…!

Every now and then something happens on the forum where the wheels fall off a bit.

If the Mods are able to, and if @zedwheels agrees, surely this is one of those threads that should be deleted completely.

A new for sale thread, no negative commenting, let the O.P. Get on with it.

I realise I posted first, but I felt that I was balanced and not critical… happy to not post at all on a replacement thread.

I’m on other car & bike forums as are a few on here as I recognise their usernames. On those forums a thread like this would have been deleted or at least tidied up by the moderator(s) long before now. Time for a fresh For Sale ad and moving on.

He has not even got the model of car in the title - this thread has been an utter joke from day 1 and is currently breaking the rules (no price) unlike me (there is no rule against chats on for sale threads.)

I will give it a rest, almost certainly, from this forum, permanantly. In fact a ban from the mods would be great, save me from having to exert self-control.

Deleted it. It was a serious point - the forum has a long established old guard and the forum should - IMHO - decide the extent it is for the old members (and therefore has a finite lifespan) and the extent it is for everyone. Maybe it is already determined, I suspect it is.

If it is for everyone my suggestion is slightly different rules (eg "no comments on for sale threads"), clear etiquette (or bring those elements into the rules) and same rules for everyone.

I apologize for using the phrase "die off" in relation to the members of the forum and the forum. I can certainly see why some people are offended and one should try to make sure that one stay the right side of the line (a line that shifts dependent on where you talking)... and pretty much by definition one has erred if one has crossed the line.

I am sorry for using a phrase that offended. I should not have done so and will do my best not to repeat.

I have met Fred in person and he’s a decent chap and genuinely enthusiastic having got his hands on a first Z4. He wasn’t the one that started this bad vibe. The thread has got out of hand and I am sure he regrets continuing to dig whilst in the hole. Lessons learned, let’s move on.
