For anyone who's thinking of having theirs bare to paint themselves....

As they're going to be made of mild steel, wouldn't you be better having them powder coated in black and then apply paint over the top? To my mind, the powder coat should be a bit more resistant to chips etc. and, if the paint gets scratched, you're exposing the powdercoat to the elements rather than the mild steel...?

So I've told him to do them all in black, meaning I will have 55 black scoops. Plenty of spares!!!

For the red and blue scoops, I am waiting for two other powder coaters to come back to me. Annoying for those wanting blue or red. The only other option is for me to supply the bare scoops at a reduced cost and then you can spray them your colour of choice? The reduction in cost would pay for the paint easily.

I'm fine with black if it makes life a little easier I echo what's already been said and thank you for your efforts with this I bet there's been times you wish you hadn't mentioned it however I'm sure we're all glad your sticking with it :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Thanks, it does make it easier. Can't quite believe how difficult it is to deal with these companies. Not returning calls, emails, wrong information, etc.

Once the penny drops that it's not a prototype that could lead to mass production and lots of business, their interest disappears and your left unable to get any information.

Don't regret doing it but disappointed about the blue and red ones.

Apologies for the late reply, been soooooo busy.

The scoops should be ready any day now, I've been at our new work unit this week with no internet (yet) and no phone signal. Powder coater is being slower than expected but assures me they're nearly done! I will have chance to chase him properly tomorrow so should know more then.

On the car situation, I really never thought I would sell the Z but ive got the opportunity to buy my dads 2009 330d coupe m-sport really really cheaply. 40k miles, red leather, manual (rare apparantely). Just seems too good to miss. I also need something with better mpg for the new business venture as I'll be on the road a lot more.

Didn't advertise on here as I'm probably asking above the "going" rate and I've seen people shredded with their valuations lol. But IMO it's so good (we all think that) that I think the price is fair.

Had quite a bit of interest but will be happy either way. If it doesn't sell for £6k I will very happily keep but I have got a terrible ///M itch so either way, I would want to stick around.

My advert write-up is purposely terrible aswell but I've had that much messing about on eBay when selling cars I just thought "if someone likes it, they'll come and see it". Fed up with text messages offering £1500 etc.
 
330D is a cracking car as far as diesels go - sounds lovely. Honestly didn't think your price looked out of the ordinary at all - looked a decent price for a well loved car :thumbsup:
