no mate, booked in at Longlife exhausts Birmingham
Could you get me some pics when your all done please. I think it may have been me who told you about these guys as I was going to get it booked in but other things robbed me of my hard earned so it's currently on hold. How much did you get quoted in the end and are they cutting it for you.

Ill take a couple for you tonight ranski and send them across to you.

Have you got it booked in at the same place I had it done?

could you PM me the pics also? I'm still debating whether to do as you have or pay the extra for some plastic welding to be done. just waiting for a shop to finalize my quote and I'll have mine booked in!

Got mine back today and also very pleased with the result, both visual and sound and the fact that equal amount of gas appears to leave both pipes

Hmmm, I like the fitting - very tidy.

I have fitted an Eisenmann exhaust (backboxes) on my M roadster and they seem to be hanging about an inch too low with the bumper. The original hangers aren't great, which is why it sits low. Do you think that a pro exhaust place would be able to do anything about it and get it to sit more flush with the bumper or do I have to just put up with how it looks at the mo?

Sorry to derail thread.. I'll go get a photo

Ranski - looking good and seems a really neat fitment

Booner - I fitted ///M backboxes and used aftermarket brackets to fit them (even though I'd purchased OEM) to get the exact right fit.

There is quite a considerable range of movement, slacken the bolts. Use something to hold box in right place, cheap car jack then retighten

Ranski - that looks great, pretty much exactly what I'm looking to do to mine! Do you know what type of mufflers they used? And did you cut the bumper the same way JDM did his or did you get it welded up like pawn sacrifice?

Also do you have a pic of the right side tips/ piping at all? Left side looks very nice!

The bumper cutting was what i was most worried about - they cut it with a dremel using a paper template and lots of measuring! There are a few tiny bits of plastic need sanding down, but hardly noticeable

The sound output is equal on both sides as with the vapour that is released -

PS they had the car for 2 days as its the first one they have done -

very nice, after seeing those pics I'll be happy to cut the bumper on both sides JDM style. only thing I was still wondering is how the piping goes into the RHS tips, does it curve around and go into the back of the tips, or does it just join in on a 90 degree angle like JDM's tips?

i just got quoted $1000 to get this done, so I think I might cut out the RHS gap myself, and see how much that saves...

lol wannabe M - every new car these days has quad exhaust, and I think all Z4's should have them, well except the 2.0

if we all changed our bumpers and badges, then you might have reason for concern :poke:

I'll have to watch out for all these wannabe M's popping up...I guess it all comes out in the wash :P

Unless I am mistaken i thought the core purpose of the forum was to share driving experiences and the modifications we have carried out, whatever the model of our Zed -

Well after seeing the pics I've gone for it and booked in for the same job in a couple of weeks.

Just one query - would this exhaust job affect insurance I.e is it something that needs to be mentioned on the policy?

Shall post pics when it's done!

I'd definitely mention it but don't be surprised if there's an increase in premium.
