Went really well. They made a template of the LHS and then flipped it and marked it out on the otherside. Took about half hour to get the position right but it looks perfect. We have cut the inner rolled lip of the LHS so it matches the RHS aswell. To be honest it looks like it rolled out of the factory like that.. Im chuffed to bits with it :D

I never even considered this. I was thinking about doing the cut and making the rolled inner lip the same way PawnSacrifice did it. But this option sounds far easier and less time consuming (wont require any painting either) so should save me a few $$$ just need to get a solid quote to get the piping done now

and from looking at yours, the way the tips fill the space you would never know the cutout is meant to be rolled in. Great effort!!

Thanks. I thought that if it looked rubbish I would get an M bumper but doing it this way has saved me a good few hundred quid and it looks a proper job. Im quite a perfectionist so if it wasnt right it would bug me. Im more than happy with the way it looks

Not bullying mate, all in good fun. :)

Will be waiting for your clips! :driving:

Thanks CJ, it was your original post that inspired me to do this. Just a shame I cant get hold of a CF diffuser to finish it off nicely..

Its not that loud without the box. It still has the mid silencer and resonator. its a slightly different set up to yours as from memory when I de-catted my old one, the pre facelift 3.0 dont get mid silencers where as mine does. Dont get me wrong its loud but its an addictive loud with crackles and pops and bangs when you lift off.. As I said previously though if it does get too much then ill get a box put on

As long as you can handle the drone and it doesnt drown out the engine note you'll be addicted. I was a bit shocked from the volume and drama when i first installed my RPIs but now it's been more than a year later and i'm still rocking them. :D

Nice thongs too. :P

Cheers fella.. How did you know I was wearing my mother's thong?

Sorry to go off topic, but i was wondering about your decatted 3.0i.

Did you not have any trouble with o2 sensor readings?
Did you take out all 4 cats or just the secondary ones (ie. not the ones built into the manifold)
What difference did it make to the car? sound/performance etc

Apologies for all of the questions but i have wanted to do this for a while but found very few people online who have done it. I am fairly local to Doncaster myself if this place does it for a reasonable price..

Many thanks

jdm - nice!!

dont know how I missed this thread but your looks and sounds sweet! looks totally oem which is what I like. Youll have to get a few more video/sound clips up of the car on the road or a driveby or something. twas an excellent price too!

Thanks doofus4000

I'll have to get someone to video me doing a driveby at some point soon and get it posted up on here..

I ended up paying more for the work than originally anticipated due to the time it took and the complexities of the install. I still got a really good discount due to being a repeat customer a few times over and I am more than happy with what was payed..

Cheers.

you have any closeups on the bumper where they cut for the new exhaust? as mine is booked in next week

thanks
