Quad Exhaust Conversion for our Bruce... NOW FITTED!!!

Would it be best to disconnect the negative from the battery before removing the filter and plugging the tubes? Any idea what diameter the tubes are? Thanks so much for your help so far :) really appreciate it

No reason to disconnect the battery to remove it.
Can't recall the pipe diameter. Sadly you need to get under the car and do some measuring

The 2 bars are braces - not disimilar to those under the bonnet in function. Of course they could come loose as they are just bolted on. Checking such things is just a part of routine maintenance. Not that you were but don't think about removing them for any exhaust fitting and not replacing them

lol no wasnt thinking that at all, was thinking about what I posted up on the driveshaft thread which you replied to and thought maybe these being loose would lead to the clunking.

Hearing from other forum members and yourself 'cj10jeeper', it looks like the charcoal filter can be removed and the hoses tied up with cable ties or similar. Fairly easy job and will allow the new tails to be fitted :) happy days.

Thanks for everyones input and I'll post some images once I have had the exhaust fitted in a few weeks :)

They must be capped off though as one will allow the inlet to suck air in (and potentially dust). The other end will allow petrol vapour to leak out.

So they definitely need to be capped off properly rather than just cable ties! I need to get under the car and look at the diameter of the hoses - does anyone what diameter the hoses are?

JDM, this needs updating, you need to put a pic of the rear spoiler

this is a very neat looking mod, well impressed

Sorry Taz, you're right. Totally forgot about adding one.

Glad you like it.. Have I tempted you to go for it yet?

Here's a few pics. Taken from the Lakes trip at the weekend :D

Very tempted, I would have to have the quad conversion and the rear spoiler and as you say, those rear spoilers are now impossible to get, your wheels are awesome too, I'm not a jealous guy, well not much

My quad's being done today, collect tomorrow. They're fitting 2 small backboxes, heatshield to protect bumper & filter. They've done this before - tough job but the results are apparently superb.

Will post pics on Weds..!

Funnily enough I emailed them a picture of yours when I booked it in - 'just like that one..!' just need to save up for the springs & wheels now :-0

Glad I inspired someone :D.

You will love it when its done. The rear just looks so more balanced
