Here we go again
Some of you may remember me mentioning my young apprentice, Edward, who has been helping out with various jobs on my fleet over the last couple of years: to the extent that his dad now has a 2.5i E85 too!
Well Edward wants a PlayStation 5 to keep up with his mates.
Rather than simply hand over even more cash, Scott (his dad) came up with a plan.
He and I go halves on a zed, rescue it and sell it on. Edward does all the research on OEM, finding parts on eBay, keeping a spreadsheet of costs, helping out with jobs when he is able, and hopefully learning a lot about the cars and also how to manage the costs involved.
Once it's sorted and sold on, Scott and I take back our investment, Edward rewards me with a bottle of malt (he's not aware of that part yet  ) and the profit goes to him getting his Playstation, but earning it rather than just being given it.
So this week we have picked up a tidy 2.2i Auto. I drove it back from Birmingham and it really is a nice little motor.
Needs new suspension, intake boot, and an EPS motor, plus the usual little cosmetic bits'n'bobs. Step one is remove the 'M' stripes from the front grille.
No rush really, as it'll probably sell better in the Spring.
I'm looking forward to another project with a purpose; and hopefully passing on some knowledge to the next generation.
