Project Midnight….

Ha Ha Ha… you changed your tune! This one is an Auto, are the parts all the same?

I would imagine so but I am not too familiar with the E85 / E86 cars. If you look at the center console piece it looks universal to fit both the manual and the auto as it is only the outer frame:

First order in…

Shocks, springs, top mounts, bump stops etc… probably be a week or so for delivery

and get some decent photos of it up.
Easy Tiger! It's not that type of forum, unless I've missed something..

Can I suggest instead of constantly swapping cars you just fettle forum cars instead? :fuelfire:

I know one that could do with a really good paint correction  :tumbleweed:

Brutal…

Actually in the bright sunlight so untypical of Scotland I noticed lots of very fine small radius micro swirls in the top coat…another job to do…

Sounds like a great project car, I look forward to seeing the updates you make on the car.

Each to their own on the badges and other stick on objects I guess atleast they won’t be on it for long

In all seriousness, I’ve been approached few times about paintwork correction. Problem is, I’d have to do it for less than a professional would charge and it would take me longer.

It would also take all the fun out of it for me. I prefer to work slowly when ‘I’m in the mood’.

I’ve had very limited time this week and all I’ve done to this car so far is removed the badging and a few other bits

I’ve also ordered all the parts for the suspension refresh.

I was joshing

It’s a skill I need to learn

The F56 and XC70 need some love and I’ve got all the gear … just no idea !-:)

Yes, I realise that…. I’d need welding goggles to correct your car!

Slightly better photo… suspension has been dispatched

Are you keeping the “Eyebrows”?

No, just haven’t got around to removing them yet. They’ll be gone before it’s first little outing next weekend

Are you making the LEDs scroll from left to right like the Knightrider?

I’ll be making them scroll from the car into the bin…. :poke:

They are really bright, but just not well ‘integrated’

It’s also got a weird aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system with massive bulbous valve caps… guess where that’s going.

There’s a magnetic phone holder on the dash, but it’s not strong enough for my iPhone max :headbang:

No idea how the dash cams work, but they automatically record every time I drive the car…. Zero idea how to retrieve any footage

I’ll be keeping the LED’s in the boot as it’s like there’s a biblical glow when it’s open - genuinely useful

Another little job done today, thought it would be quick… it wasn’t.

Turns out the headlight brows were stuck on with copious amounts of silicone. So - tedious to clean up, wet sand and polish, but worth the effort;
