Ok guys... here are some Photoshopped images of what the car will look like WITH the bodykit mesh installed... I am going to be adding a small original Z4 stencil to the front end to minimise the 'HUGE OPEN MOUTH' effect the large centre grill has...

What do you think should go in the grill? Something big and obvious or a little bit more subtle?

As I said, all in 1 colour and as for the grill, just the mesh would be enough: less is more
the Z4 logo just doesn't look right in that big grill

If you're going down the race car look with it, any plans for a front splitter?

Potentially... I have dabbled in the idea... along with front cannards too :)

Yes!

Paint over the carbon roof, unless you're going to paint the car black.

Don't bother with the front z4 badge, leave the mesh grill.

All same colour all over.i honestly think a black bonnet would look tosh. Nothing in the grill either. I think the back should be the place for any decals.
I think kidneys too, it's a bmw after all.

Subtle z4 logo and no c/f bonnet in my personal opinion!

That volcano red is too nice a colour to have a big expanse of the car NOT painted in it!

wattsie

 I love this thread!
The volcano red DEFINITELY should be done.
Keep the real carbon fibre, it's genuine, show it off, extra clear coat and lots of flatting and polishing to make it as flat and liquid-like as possible would be my choice.
The enlarged kidney photoshop above would be my choice too. One big open grill lets it down a bit imo.
I think if I received as much negativity off people as you I'd be sulking and not posting
I on the other hand think it's amazing and really do hope you go with that colour. Is the new spoiler going to be carbon in the middle with volcano red end plates? That looks good in my mind lol.

.

Def like the red
I'm a +1 for the kidney photoshop.
I would have thrown my dummy in by now if I'd had as much negativity

The red's good, just the red no CF tat to spoil it, no stripes, no badges on the grill just let that paint run front to back and it will look the DB's

Because racecar? I know you're kidding, but seriously

It couldn't be any more different from a racing vehicle  it's form without function. Race cars are either completely the opposite or combine the 2, but always put function first.

Huge great wheels with stretched tyres is most definitely not race car.

This.

I actually think it will turn out ok with that beautiful red paint.

The form is the function ;)

Agree with the above that it's a shame the bonnet won't be Red also.

Xiaxio's 350z looks terrible with a real carbon bonnet (in my opinion of course).

Would look so sexy with a Volcano Candy Red bonnet...already enough carbon by the sounds of it!
we get CF bonnets because race car!. :wink:and in my defense the quality of the pictures were so bad some people thought it was just a black bonnet :poke: but to be completly honest marmite wouldn't look right with one. Atleast the way it is now. Maybe just maybe! If it was how mine is with the vents and what not but marmite is to wide.just my 2 cents :P

The only way how you could consider keeping the bonnet in carbon fibre look, is if you paint the rest of the car in a matching colour. Dark carbon grey or black for example.

People who look more closely will notice and appreciate the carbon fibre light-weight, and from a distance she will look stunning!

In that case, you could even paint the grills in the same colour as they would probably be black anyway...

Go STEALTH mode! :D
