Production Started!

Hopefully for you all they will arrive before the tax hike.

Did have a discussion with the technician whilst mine was having brake fluid change. He was most dischuffed that all new cars now have to have an annoying alarm when they go even a mile or two over the speed limit.

Hope yours are not the same

I'm expecting this, you can turn it off but I think you need to do it every time you get in the car. Annoying but I guess it will become habit.

Hmmmmm this bit is a bit annoying though :-
Why is a data logger part of the speed limiter system?
While you can turn the speed limiter off, you can’t get away from it entirely. A data logger – or black box – will constantly record your car’s speed and location. Should you have an accident, your insurer will be able to interrogate the data logger to see if you were exceeding the speed limit at the time of the accident and if the limiter system was turned off. If so, your insurance may be invalid.

Lots of cars have been data logging for quite some time…in certain jurisdictions the user manual tells you of the potential dire consequences if the data is retrieved…

So hoping the Tanker/cargo vessel collision on the north sea isn't going to delay anything.

I've just looked on ship tracking and given how close it is to Immingham I'll be amazed if that doesn't cause chaos

I am sure us up here in the Northeast can lend a hand. Tyne & Tees ports can take car imports. They manage Nissan OK

Still at 182, but the local news is saying the Humber is open to normal traffic.

My dealer called today. My car is also still 182 at Bremerhaven, will have been sat there two weeks as on Friday. They haven't been told to expect any delays with shipping to Immingham so hopefully we should be OK.

So my salesperson rang me this morning to update me on the car. He in the frame of mind that the car could be on a boat now !! its just BMW haven't updated the system. Fingers crossed he correct.

That would be nice!

So here his email, sounds positive.
Hi Mark,

I hope you are well.

Just a further update, there's no change on the status - it's still showing as between the exit port and on the ship. Hopefully that means it will be landing in the UK very soon. Sometimes the system does this and there is a bit of a lag in terms of where the car is in the process.

I'll check it again at the end of this week and keep you updated.

Still no news but my sales person has raised a case with BMW.
I popped on the live chat yesterday evening and they`ve contacted BMW UK sales team to ask the same question,
Should hear back from them in the next 48 hours.

Mine is still in Bremerhaven export storage so I guess yours is as well. Carrier assigned but no ship. I was in the dealership so I've seen it for myself on their system, it's been sat there since the 28th of Feb! :tumbleweed:

LHam,
Like you`ve said,

We've heard back from BMW logistics, your Z4 does unfortunately look to be stuck at the port at Bremerhaven. This is what they've said:

"its does seem to be stuck slightly at Bremerhaven, we have been having issues with this shipping route for over a year now due it containing other legs that have to detour to avoid dangerous waters which has a knock on effect to the orders waiting to be collected. I have logged a priority ticket for this one now, but this is all we are able to do in this instance"

I will chase for a further update later this week, if we don't hear that it's on the water by then I'm thinking it won't arrive until April.

But I wouldn't put it UK Gov to hold off on imports so they can cash in on more tax.

oh hum. its going to be worth the wait tho.

Re the delays, as a goodwill gesture BMW should contribute something towards the increased tax if it arrives after April.

Nanu,
I`ve asked that question seen as they`ve sorted said its the port of exit that`s the issues. Both LHam and my car have been at the port since the 28th Feb.
