I had a Mazda RX8 before the Z, but appalling fuel economy and a ropey engine forced me to trade it in.

Was a great car to drive though, just too many problems :(

Ultimately this, although there was a 2 year gap.
Had it for about 7-8 years, was heavily modified, Honda 2.0 vtec engine & 6-speed box to replace the Rover K-series, track spec springs and dampers, etc etc. Turned it into a full on track car so was not so good on the road, did hundreds of trackdays, helped run Lotus clubs, Lotus race series (still help on that) etc so was a bit full on for Lotus stuff for about 10 years, but as I wasn't using it much in the last year I had it for various reasons and also needed a break from a lot of the Lotus stuff I did so sold it (probably too early as prices are on the up).

I had a Toyota Celica Gen 7 before the Z. It was a really good car but it was just time for a change.

These were my toys just prior to buying the Zed.

Was this a real one or a Chesil? Very nice, one of my favourite cars
+1 one of my bucket list cars.... Absolutely gorgeous motor

Tapatalking...

1.1L Citroen C2. I'll let you all pause after that :P

Not out of choice though, insurance somewhat dictated that purchase. Now a bit more freedom has allowed the zed to creep into reality :driving:

BMW 320SI, Hartside, Cumbria by TomScottPhotographyCumbria, on Flickr

320SI WTCC A limited-run homologation special of BMW’s world touring car. 2500 were made worldwide, only 400 to the UK.

Had a handmade higher revving engine built in the same factory as the F1 cars. Low mounted with a carbonfibre cylinder-head cover. Like a baby M3.

Unfortunately all the power came at 5500rpm so useless on the motorway great on A-B roads, but averaging 27mpg I swapped to the Z4M get near enough the same MPG and a huge step up in power.

Looked nice under the bonnet tho :)

To my 2006 Z4 M coupe (pictures in my other post in the new members section)

Best decision I have made, love the sound and the purity of the power.

S14 facelift 200 sx touring with a few things done to it which made the dashboard resemble like the starship Defi... Quicker than the Z4 3.0 I replaced it with and was prone to shooting 2 ft flames out the back when pressing on.

A Z4M addressed that ;)

BMW 318i from 1995, was still in excellent shape and got 800 euro's for it... this was even not enough for inscription and first tax here in Belgium for the z4....
