Previous car to Z4 ??

An RX-8 - amazing car if you ignore the constant trips to the pump. It cost me precisely £15 in non-routine repairs in 5+ years of ownership (windscreen washer motor off fleabay). In 6 months the Zed has already stung me badly (steering column) and now there's more to come (airbag light on and it doesn't seem to be the passenger seat sensor, intermittent DSC light, rear springs need changing etc etc). Bring on the spring and I'll remember why I went for the roadster....

That 911 is lovely though... one day!

Mine was a 1980 Porsche 911 SC, which was fully rebuilt by my friend who I bought it from,I had it for around 10 yrs and also had it restored again and modified, loved it :-)

That is mighty fine Darren  I can see why you kept it so long :driving:

Thanks Lee

Lucky you, my mate bought a 1 owner full history car from a trader, 7 months in engine blew itself to bits. £2.5k for reconditioned lump which drinks more oil than petrol. Utter piece of crap IMO, not even fast yet loads of head ache!

Had this from new imported from spain full uk spec ES model 12 years of total trouble free motoring. Total different machines  Hope I have the same with the Z4 but reading past topics who knows what might happen.

54 plate 1.4L TDCi Ford Fiesta Ghia ---> Z4M Coupé.

Cheap to run eco car was an enabler to zedland... Fiesta still sits on the hard standing in my back garden, still too cheap to run to get rid off (if that makes any sense!!)

2000 Audi TT 1.8 Quattro.

Fast nippy lil thing, but wanted a car that didnt get all the 'hairdresser' insults...

Wait a second... :headbang:

E36 328i in silver. Super car that went like stink even if it had no 1st gear!
And no it wasn't there when I bought it either but what do you want for £1k?

It was a 2005 Tiburon V6, a Miami import, otherwise known as the Hyundai Coupe.

Looked like a Ferrari. Plenty of torque, low on horsepower, great gurgling sound, too much weight and relentless understeer, with monster torque steering under acceleration. Otherwise, pretty much fun for the money. And that great roof that slid all the way back.

The weight ratio was too much front-biased, and the front end permanently wanted to plough the furrows.

MX 5 - great car - very reliable - great fun - cheap to run but not wonderful fuel consumption. Wanted to move up - bought a TVR Chimera - brilliant noise and performance but couldn't live with the constant doubt - went for the Z4 instead - excellent choice so far.
