I see, yes that must make a difference to the decision making process.![]()
You definitely don't want to be driving your Z4 in salty slush. That's a shortcut to corrosionfredej said:buzyg said:patriot66 said:The only problem with that BuzyG is that Fredej lives in Sweden (where I was born) and where very soon they will have snow on the ground for 5 - 6 months and will all be driving around on 'dubbdack' studded tyres...not the best conditions for your pride and joy Z4

Those crisp, dry and sunny days with no salt on the roads are sadly very few during the winter months here in Gothenburg. And the cost of keeping it taxed and insured are fairly high, so while tempting, it will be in hibernation during winter.
From the condition of the underside of the car I don’t think it has ever been used over the winter.
In the Gothenburg area it is more rain, slush and ice than actually snow. And these road conditions gets treated with salt. That is the main reason I want keep the Z4 off the roads during winter.
It is mandatory to have winter tyres in Sweden during December to April. With proper tyres I don’t think it would much of a problem to drive a Z4 during winter unless there is really deep snow.
