I love Lyme Park. My Alison's from nearby Stockport so we have been there with the kids and dogs many times over the years. Did either of you take a walk up to and then go inside the old hunting lodge called The Cage ? Fascinating and great views  Lyme-Park-9050-2.jpg

No, we only had a few hours on route home from the Lakes. Is that up on the left as you drive in? I saw some deer rutting over in that direction and jumped out of the Zed to take a quick video. The short walk we did was the other side of the house, out to the famous little pool. We did find another hunting lodge up on a ridge nearby. :)

We didn’t spot him. Probably too cold!

Lyme Park is only an hours drive from us and if you take the scenic route a pleasant one. We braved it with the roof down on the way there but chickened out on the way back. It was perishing. They open the house in December for Christmas which is the reason we went. See https://photos.app.goo.gl/S1ASarMMzVGL6xCn9

Nice pictures. Very warm inviting seasonal glow to those. Just need a few reign deer and some snow on the ground, for the perfect winter scene. :)

Yes that's the one, high up on the left of the drive as you're coming in. There's some good dog walks in the woods on the south-west side of the house accessible from Shrigley Rd that I can recommend. You can walk up to the edge of the moorland and look down across the park to the house
