Post pics of your.... push bikes :-)

What's all this talk about a bike rack? As a Z4 owner you should be good at making the best of a small space. It just takes a bit of careful thinking. When I saw the boot on my Z4 I knew right away the frame would go in...

...and the wheels

...and all the rest of the bike of course

...and helmet, shoes, tools, bumbag, bottle

...and no need to wind up the roof storage space either

Impresses the hell out of people in the car park when they see what you're taking out of that boot space.

The green thing is a thick tarpaulin (I can supply them!) that I laid out all over the place in case metal touched paint (it didn't).

All I had to do to get my Marin Mount Vision in there was take off the wheels and slide the seatpost out and undo the plate on the front of the handlebars. If you don't have the plate type then you'll be taking off levers and bits, which can be messy. The whole thing can go from full bike to stashed bike in about 6 minutes.

Superb

Funnily enough, I also carried my mountain-bike in my Z4 roadster boot at the weekend. I usually use my van but it was away for "aesthetic enhancement", and the wife's sensible car with roofbars wasn't available, but I was desperate to go mountain-biking...

Both wheels off, seat post dropped down (not removed), stem unbolted, forks removed, left the pedals on, and the bike went in incredibly easily. 5min job for me. Stuck the wheels in the boot beside the rest of the bike, box of bike crap on passenger seat, roof down 8) and off I went.

There can't be many 2-seat roadsters you can do that with...

(wish I'd taken photos)

Oh dammit, the credit card is red hot...

New addition to the fleet at the weekend - first brand new bike I've bought in over 10 years, everything else has been second-hand/used. It's a nice feeling, guess it's similar to buying a new car :)

Nice! I could've bought my Z4 AND a couple of my bikes pictured above for that price though... :D. But with the way things are going in this year's Tour I reckon Wiggo's bikes might be sold off cheap, he's really not having a good one.

(I heard rumours early on today that today's stage should be good to watch later - highlights on ITV4 only for me though)

A few pics of my Specialized Pitch Comp 08......

Standard apart from Spank Bars & Stem, DRM Flats, E.Thirteen DRS Chain Device.

Trying to decide whether to go all out on the blue/white thing and get a white saddle/seat post and mebs paint the red suspension link?

Love it

That's cracking Ali_Z4C. I think I'd be inclined to do a bit more colour-coding too - at least a saddle although I don't think a white seatpost would stay white particularly long if you're like me and always dropping the saddle for descents. Perhaps some other cranks to replace the silver ones? (I've just ordered a set of the newer Saints from CRC in their sale).

Been missing my bar ends on this latest mountain bike but didn't want to put long ones on because of raised bars (just doesn't look right!), so found these stubby ones! Work well and look good along with the Hope bar ends and the Good and Evil red grips!!

Tried them out last Monday on a day out in the forest.

Thought the one trail we ended up on seemed void of people!! :P

Its an awesome bike for the money handles everything I throw @ it! Was going to get the pro version but couldn't bring myself to own a brown bike!!

Good shout on the cranks.... I think it would defo look better changing the silver for white. Going to get a white charge spoon saddle as they are fairly cheap and comfy (had one on my last bike) and scrap the seatpost idea as ya right will be scratched to sh*t with dropping it for the DH all the time!

Have you seen the Crank Brothers Joplin adjustable seat pin? Looks interesting!
Specialised actually do their own one too I believe. Quite a few different brands out there, RockShox have one coming out soon too but I've heard rumours of a £300 price tag :o

It's the one thing I'm considering buying for my Lapierre but at the moment I can't justify the cost...

I'm a noob here but couldn't resist this thread. I like bikes. :D

Ah yes, Orange bikes! My first real mountain bike when I started racing years ago was an Orange Clockwork! Added some Manitou suspension forks to it. Only;y about 1 to 2 inches of travel in those days!! Good bike!

Getting muddy is all part of MTBing - why spoil/limit it with mudguards! I do have "Crud Catcher" type front guards on all my MTBs though but that's only to keep mud out of my eyes and off my glasses.

Full-length traditional mudguards are an essential part of a commuting bike though, particularly in Scottish weather...
