Poor thing didn't make it through the night :-(

Thanks for your support. It really means something to us.
It's just so unfair. He really was the kindest dog around... I still can't believe he was sitting on my lap just 2 days ago.

Thank God we still have our dear friend Bengo, the loyal compagnon of Raiko. They were always together. He's a little lost now, but still a big support these days.

This is Bengo:

Really sorry to hear, we'd be gutted if one of our cats was taken from us. And although they pretend to dislike each other, you can tell they'd be lost without their play/fight/scrounging mate. It's incredible how much a part of your life they become.

a truly heartbreaking post . i for 1 would be inconsolable so my thoughts go out to you
maybe some pics of our own mutt's would help ?
here's our border terrier Jess after a hard day in normandy at easter :) http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q576/beaucostil/sleepyjess001.jpg?t=1354461951

Oh man! What a terrible accident. We gave our little Jack Russell ,Bob, a home 4 years ago, he was a rescue, and he has completely disolved our hearts.I couldn't imagine how I'd feel if anything happened to him.Reading your posts has made me think about being in your place and I now have the biggest lump in my throat ever. So, so sad,Mrs bigshurv sends you a right big hug.

So sorry to hear your wee dog lost his battle :( :( :( .
We lost our wee cat (cassie) earlier this year and it is very hard to start with but i can assure you time is a great healer.

Bad_Pritt, so sorry to hear this. Losing a family member is always so hard, thinking of you :(

Bad_Pritt really, really sorry to hear Raiko didn't make it, that is so sad. Thoughts are with you.

Thanks again for your support. We're still in disbelief... Especially the evenings are extra hard. Raiko slept on our laps almost every night. He was also a rescue from the streets. He was very frightfull and fragile and shy. But when he trusted you, there was virtually nothing you could do wrong. Even the vet was sad even though he hardly knew the dog. He was surprised how gentle the dog was during his treatment. Normally dogs will bite or try anything to avoid pain. But even in pain, Raiko still trusted him and let him help.

I just can't describe how much I miss him right now... Crying as I type this.

Honestly don't know what to say. I honestly think animals are worse than losing human beings at times.......an animal will never give to anything other than unconditional love. :(

Lucky you have his little mate to help you through.

Bad_Pritt, really sorry to hear the news. The worst thing is how quickly this has happened, if a pet is poorly then you can have time to prepare for the worst, but this has been so quick.

:(

So sorry to hear... My dog passed away around 18 months ago, she was a much loved pet, uber intelligent, part of the family, and had been with me 12 years when one day while out walking she collapsed and died in my arms. Awful. I still miss her.. I have complete sympathy for you..
