Poor thing didn't make it through the night :-(

At night my dogs have a locked area in the garden where they can sleep. At the moment, some changes are going on in the garden and our gardener left the gate slightly open. None of us noticed, not even the dogs. This morning the worst has happened... My neighbour saw both dogs running on the street and just when he was about to warn us, our little Raiko ran under a car. The poor thing got a bad hit... We brought him to the vet and now we have to wait for himto get through the first couple of hours. Only after that, the vet can see whether the little guy can be saved but things don't lookvery good, he might be paralised from the waist down

Looks like he is not going to make it... We just saw the vet... He eplained everything what was wrong with him. That much I almost fainted... It's almost inoperable and he is almost unconscious with morfine. We will have to put him to sleep

I can't believe how much I cried already, which I usually never do... He really is the sweetest thing on earth. We'll give it another night, who knows a miracle might happen... If he is not better tomorrow morning... we will let him go.

Just to echo the others, there's nothing that can be said that makes it any better

Hopefully tomorrow will bring better news for you.

MIRACLES EXIST !!!

Unbelievable... he's pulling through and the vets says they will probably be able to operate and save him. He contacted an expert after our visit and the expert recons he can be saved, based upon the CT scan and past experiences and the fact that he seems to be getting a little better. They will operate tomorrow morning!!!

Downside is the pricetag... a few thousand euros will be gone :?
But then again... what's a life worth right? So we gave the vet green light...
