Two reasons to use the Zed for every day
1. I can't drive it in the winter so I want to drive it as much as possible when I can
2. THe Zed gets 30-35 mpg depending on where I am etc and my pickup gets 18mpg. Nuff said

Hi, used every day by me when home about 6 months and my wife drives it every day the other 6 months, about 16,000 miles a year total.
this is our second 3.0 first was a 04 3.0SE ran it from 26,000 up to last month 96,000 when we changed to an 07 3.0 SI with 24,000 0n the clock. The SE was showing 32.4 mpg when handed it in the SI is showing 35.2 mpg.
Love driving top down, great experience.

I use mine everyday - but not as an everyday car if you follow.
I work offshore so there is no daily commute, all my miles are either fun or shopping .........

wont take it to asda or tesco's - wont leave it parked outside the pub :lol ...... and there's more potholes around my way which means local driving is like dodgem's with the 108's ......

When Im home, teh day goes something like, drop the missu off at work in the zed at 07:00am, breakfast somewhere up the highlands ...... lunch somewhere else ....... back to the house to make it look like Ive done some housework, pick herself up.

:D

Laid up under cover for winter and occasional use the rest of the time. Daily drive is an E36 Coupe. Why? Because while I was in town today for lunch with a friend the E36 had the NSF wing AND NSF door damaged while bay parked in a car park. Hard to believe but I parked on the far side of the car park well away from any other cars but somebody decided they needed to nestle up right alongside and got it wrong. The result is 1150 Euros to repair. So 'Z' is for special occasions such as the 18th of this month when I will drive to the UK and early morning blasts. I also have a Twingo winter car because both the Z and the 3er are useless in the snow!

She may not always be clean (hence the nickname Dusty) - but who doesn't like a dirty girl???

She may not be the most frugal on juice (13.9l/100km on 98 octane racing fuel) - but who cares when a slight press on the pedal wriggles the backside around every corner???

Fortunately I do very little driving in heavy traffic and am privy to speed trap locations.

Every day is race day - 40 miles daily average - on fairly good highways.

Just wondering why the tyres are going so fast...

Ps. She is a Sapphire black z4mr... with a stubby.

Yes, when I'm not riding my Rocket 3 Touring. But I live here is South Florida, where I can keep the top down much (if not most) of the time.

I'd love to use it as a daily but
1 cant fit all my tools. drills, cable and trunking in the boot :(
2 I haven't found a decent roof rack that fits on the soft top to carry my rhinotube and ladders around :headbang:
3 i'm guessing that if i turn up to work at a clients property to work i may get no offer of tea and biscuits
Think i'll stick with the transit for work and the zed as my 'this is why i work' thrill

He's from Germany, where our 'extreme' snowfall is just average in many areas. Winter tyres are also a legal requirement.

he's from Germany and I'm in Canada where the snow can be nothing or absolutely crazy. Once you run out of the 3.5 " of clearance it doesn't matter what tires you have, you're stuck. and calling a tow truck. :(

Used to be a daily driver, but I couldn't face 50 miles of London rush hour traffic each day and loading the miles on the Z4. As such, from now until I'm working in central London again in October, I'm driving an E46 320d most days...except when the cravings become unbearable :D Of course, when the sun shines, the Westfield may see a little more use too :driving:

both answers apply depending upon the calendar

April-October :driving: it's my daily driver
November-March :headbang: it's stored someplace warm & dry

Daily driver for me. Shift work so not too much time stuck in traffic. Z4 running costs aren't really that expensive I think so why not use it everyday. Cheaper than running a second car for me anyway when I probably only do 8000 Miles/year.

I've only got one space in the subterranean garage so my answer is yes when mine arrives i'll be driving it every day :( on the one hand i don't want to as i can just see it being peppered with stone chips but on the other i can't wait for the "fun" to begin :-) looks like i'll be detailing to my hearts content at the weekends ;-)

It's a daily driver for me since I got it, avarage about 400 miles a week, mostly long cruises. Never missed a beat, works fine in all weathers including snow, so it does mean cleaning at least once a week - underneath and all.

I went from two cars to one when I got the zed, as it just didn't seemed unpractical enough to keep locked away most of the time, and I thought this was my last chance to be able drive a big engined 2 seater as a daily car before it becomes the social equivalent of setting fire to kittens on a daily basis...
