Exclusive is the wrong word, a very pretentious word. I personally think the Roadster is better looking with the top down than a Coupe, but the coupe offers a more taut driving experience.

I'd like to think that if James Bond had the choice between Coupe and Ragtop, he'd go for a Coupe. Understated.

James Bond? old hat... Jason Bourne would choose a roadster

I'm abstaining because this is a pointless poll ! People are bound to vote for what they've got and as the Roadster was on sale for 3 years longer in many different engine sizes compared to the Coupe surprise surprise it sold more.

I tell you what though - I get far, far more admiring glances in the M Coupe than I ever got in my roadster. The shape is just a lot sexier roof up or down in my opinion. I also think the E85 is starting to date rapidly now. It's been out a lot longer than the Coupe and it shows. That was one of reasons I sold it and I didn't buy an E89 because somehow they just don't do it for me.

Don't mistake me - I did 85k very happy miles in the E85 but it was time to move on and as soon as the Coupe came out I wanted one. I've not had one regret losing open top motoring at all.

Why do you think everybody will blindly vote for what they have currently got ? There could be plenty of peolpe who bought one but regretted it and wish they had bought the other.

And in any case, I go back to my earlier point,..if more people have roadsters then BMW made more of them because more people wanted them. If more peolpe had wanted the Coupe they would have built more Coupes.

Has to be the Roadster.

If i wanted to drive a HATCHBACK i take the rover Streetwise out :fuelfire: .....................OK i admit it our second car IS a ROVER :headbang:  ..............Suppose that nulls my vote.......no accounting for taste....but it does have four seats.

You miss the point completely. Just because Roadsters sold more (and I repeat because they were out 3 years longer in many engine guises) doesn't mean one or other is better. Because they sold more there are more Roadster owners on here than Coupe owners and hence the poll is meaningless because the vast majority will vote with what they bought.

I take the point about the Roadster being around longer so more available.

But I repeat the question - "Why do you think everybody will blindly vote for what they have currently got ? There could be plenty of people who bought one but regretted it and wish they had bought the other".

There will be one or two that with they bought a coupe instead of a roadster and visa versa but the quantities don't stack the the coupe favour which ever way you look at it, as I said before also roadster will win be default.

okay ... okay you had your fun :)

let me make this perfectly clear

bottom = button

unless, I have the old lady in the car, I press her bottom and in turn she pushes the button and the roof makes it's disappearing act in 20 seconds :)

BTW, thanks for pointing out my typo

Never voted as like both equally and if when i bought my Z nearly 3 years ago the coupes had not been so much more expensive a could have ended up with a coupe

if you don't vote i think you can't see the results, is that correct?

results are 60:40 in favour of the roadster at the moment

interesting, i bet the split in members ownership is not 60:40, i would guess far more roadster owners which would suggest many roadster owners prefer the coupe :)

Is it me or do the coupes sit lower than a roadster ( i know the roof line is a little lower ) as i followed one out of Bromley towards Biggin Hill yesterday and looked lower than mine infact the facelift roadsters seem to sit lower to me
