Poll: Are you going to Run your Z over winter

I'll use my wife's TT diesel Quattro when it's cold and icy, other than that it's the zed.

I don't fit winter tyres as I don't use it in bad weather.

I might be being a bit thick here so chastise away if that's the case.

Are you running two or four winter tyres?
I've heard rumours of people running just the fronts, so wondered if that was what you meant, or you just used "pair" as that's what boots come in :?

All year for me, other transport being a motorbike.
Winters should really be x 4s or you can end up with odd handling on slippy roads in sub 7 degree temps with normal fronts and winter rears. Buying 4 isn't too bad, you aren't running your summer tyres so save on that plus avoiding a minor bump can save hundreds or more! We have a weather system that really promotes people using winter tyres.

keep mine in garage but still taxed all year round so will use only on dry days - we have a daily driver and our old vw camper ( also taxed all year round ) so two alternatives

I use mine all year\ round. Its only a 2nd/weekend car that I take to work occasionally. The Ducati will be in the dry for the winter, but I ride out when its not raining, dry sunny winter days

Still havent decided and the 31st October is my deadline for renewal. Anticipate real world mileage of 10 miles a month so is it worth half the insurance premium and the 6 months tax I have left to keep on the road over winter when I could easily SORN until April?

My Z is my only car and would be used every day but I have no where to park at work anymore so it stays in the garage now on the plus side it's now going to be a complete toy but will still be used at every opportunity

Yeah it's not the turning I have trouble with. It's getting going off my street.
Will be the first time ever needing winter tyres so it will be fine

No option on Mondays and Fridays as the wife runs my evoque across the moors to her job in Whitby. Fitting Michelin alpina A3s on a cheap set of 16s next week so should be ok up to the first 3 inches of snow until I get beached :?

I bought winters tires for it last year so I'll be using it as much as possible this winter too. I will be avoiding ice and snow, but you never know what you're going to run into when out somewhere (thus the winter rubber). If it's already snowing I'll take the "other" car.

Now on my third year of ownership, and I can't imagine leaving the poor thing in storage for an entire winter!

Amazingly Ive found that the Z4M fitted with proper winter tyres handles and drives better in deep snow
And ice than some of the other cars I drive in ...

Got the hardtop on and the winter boots fitted ......

Third winter in the Z4M on standard tyres, still not killed myself yet but I do respect it's limitations in snow.

I will jet wash it more often to keep road grit off the best I can.

quite true, for me i would say its the rest of the drivers that are more of a problem.

I have got NO time for people that 'Mothball or Hibernate' there cars over winter, even if it is your 2nd or even 3rd car?
Why bother buying one??
MAN UP!! My cousin lives in Canada and uses his Z3M as a daily drive, they have already had snow this autumn.

Mines a Roaster and itll be used 12months a year, i love those Bright sunny winter days when the air's got a really sharp bite, means ROOF DOWN HEATERS ON, BOOM!
Winter air bellow 5deg is a lot more dense in oxygen than +20deg air = sharper throttle response (thats a fact but it may make no difference that u can feel but im going with that lol)
