At the end of the day, some of us still have the relative freedom to choose whether to get vaccinated or not and whatever reasons define your own choice should be respected by everyone, regardless of your position.
The most unfortunate aspect of the pandemic is how it has polarised people's attitudes and caused division.
In my opinion, that's the real tragedy and I sympathise with the thousands of government/private-sector workers in the US and around the world who have either been fired or forced to walk of the job for their own beliefs.

The creation of the two-tier society over there alongside your Australian cousins makes me very fearful if they succeed.

It's sad that people find all sorts of reasons not to be vaccinated. People close to me have lost loved ones to Covid and they hadn't been vaccinated. I have many friends who have had Covid who were vaccinated and they didn't die. The vast majority of people who are in ICU's at the moment are not vaccinated and if people refuse to get vaccinated the strain that they are likely to put on our NHS this winter is totally selfish and unnecessary. I won't socialise with unvaccinated people, knowingly, for that very reason as I could pass on Covid to them and they could then burden the NHS.

Okay, this thread has morphed so I don’t feel bad posting one more time.

I saw a woman make this statement in front of some group, I don’t know any details but she is so right on target with her logic...IMO her logic is indisputable. Her video probably went viral but just in case you haven’t seen it, this is what she said regarding the “vaccine “.

At this point in time in England the vast majority of those in ICU as a result of COVID are not vaccinated. They are taking up ICU beds due to their own selfish decisions from people who also need one of the limited beds through no fault of their own. Its not just about protecting others from catching COVID, its also about not taking up valuable NHS resources from others who may need them.

I think this thread has now morphed from an intelligent discussion about a simple question into what I feared it may, a discussion about the rights and wrongs of the vaccine and data and counter data being quoted.
Thanks for the earlier posts which give some insight into the members intentions following a what now appears to be a lessoning risk of further restrictions.

With respect and thanks for those contributors, I would ask this thread now be closed before it disintegrates further
