Picked my Cayman up today.

Looks nice but at the end of the day it's not a zed.

Zed is nice in its own right but dynamically I would say it's a poor second to the Cayman by a fair margin. But then I could be talking rubbish :)

I specced the wheel without any pack, but not sure if you need the PDK option first!?

No, that is gear box independent. It is a challenge speccing these cars from new as the option book is about half an inch thick. Spent ages trying to configure mine with the options I wanted (during project status calls  ).

The only option which was a bit of a waste of money was the "had to have", according to the dealer, interior LED light pack. At about £400 it was not worth it.

thats niiiccceeee!!! i don't think you'll ever come back to a bmw after entering P-car ownership.

A very attractive car - it's a pity that the winter is around the corner when it will be subjected all sorts of nasty salt and grit.
We are in a similar position as we bought a new car in the summertime - I'm dreading that first council gritter :(

Just get an old car Ronk, why I go around in the Z3 during the winter with some decent tyres on it.

My Disco 3 is now nine years old and has full winters on it. That'll do nicely !
It's only done 43k and serviced every year so it should last a while longer.
It's a very tidy car although a recent hail storm has dented it's roof and bonnet - I will have it tidied then no doubt Mrs K will be banging on about selling it !

Very nice Lux, love the colour and the wheels finish it off a treat! Glad you're warming to it already!

Cracking car Steve it looks very good. You must be very pleased not jus with the car. But that all the hard work with you own business has got you to the point you can have one. Inspiration to all of us well done mate

When do I get my drive???

Check the performance specs against the 35is and the zed is far from second. Each to there own and if we all had the same tastes it would be a boring world.

i have never seen or read one comparison where the e89 has come out above the Cayman/boxster. The e89 just isn't the sports car it should be, i don't think it was ever intended to be a sports car more of a GT....

This is not top trumps, my car has so much more torque than a 35is, but that doesn't make it a sports car or handle particular well

I'm not implying the Z4 is a bad car by any means but its not a "sports" car, a big lump under the bonnet doesn't maketh the car.

My M135i is 50bhp odd more than a standard Cayman but I bet I would enjoy driving Cayman more, the chassis for me is the key, nimbleness = fun :)

Interior is dire imho. Feels like I'm sat in my old 944 S2, which felt like a moderate upgrade from my 924 !

Dire! PMSL
Have you actually sat in one?

I'm never going to slag the Z4 off, ever, as I loved mine a lot, but the interior in the Cayman is head and shoulders above the E89.
